The Hunger Games

Okay. I just finished the first book. And it is awesome.

Seriously, go read that book. NOW. Although it's really violent, it's really entertaining at the same time, with lots of suspense and action. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone under 9, since it's a little dark and descriptive, in specific ways, but if you want to read it, go ahead.

Who's read it? Do you like it? What book are you on? Discuss the greatest book series ever right here!  big_smile

Re: The Hunger Games

I have the first one
Didn't read it though
My sister did. She said its good
But it doesn't seem like the kind of book I'd like so I'm probably not going to read it any time soon

Its amazingly awesome.
I'm starting the third soon.

The second one is epic because they have an amizing plot twist.

It's actually a very good book. Kind of slow at first, and the cool action parts don't start until around page 150, but it's still superb writing.

It's kind of a romance novel, but there are only very little elements of it, and it's mainly science-fiction.

The third is quite different than the first two. If you're looking for a pleasant "feel good" ending, I suggest you put the series down as you are. That being said, I really liked book three, it made a point much better than the first two novels did.

I actually enjoyed the beginning a lot. Of course, you knew what was going to happen, but everything played out in a really well constructed and enjoyable manner. Also, I'd probably classify the series as Post-Apocalyptic Fantasy rather than Sci-Fi..

Re: The Hunger Games

All three are good, but the first is the best.  The end of the whole story is rather depressing.

Don't tell me what happens.

I heard that they might make a movie based on the first book, and if that does well, they'll do the whole series. I think they should make one, but if anyone is perfect to play Katniss, it's Chloe Moretz. She'll be perfect for Katniss. Period.

There's a slight chance the movie will be R, but PG-13 is more likely.

Definitely at the least PG-13. It's good, but sooo violent.  And...there's other stuff.

Re: The Hunger Games

I love the series.

I'm a guy and I cross-dressed as Rue for the midnight release of Mockingjay and had at least 30 people think I was actually a girl.

oh and the movie will definetly be PG-13. They would want to keep it that because the series is mainly aimed at teenagers

The third gets kind of messed up because Katniss keeps going mad.  sad
