I dont know where this discussion is going... You want us to talk about how we create space on our computers?

So you are looking for advice on which programs can be deleted? Or other ways to gain disk space?
Why not just get a second disk drive? They are pretty cheap these days. Of course, if it's a laptop, that might not be an option.

Also, ssss you should empty your recycling bin and format your drives or whatever

Empty the recycling bin is a great idea. But don't format your drives...that erases them. What you want to do is defragment them. That reorganizes them without deleting the contents.

He/she's looking for advice on how to recover disk space. Got any suggestions?

As well as defragmenting you can use a disk cleanup. Which removes very old unused files or compresses them as well as removing temp files. Go to My computer (Computer in the new windows) and right click on the drive and then properties and click on disk clean up. Please note that you can't do a disk clean up (on some windows OS's) while windows is running from that drive. In such a case, windows will clean the drive on next boot. Takes over an hour on Vista.
You can choose what files to delete.
Old user made files
Recycle Bin files
Internet temp files
Error report files
Computer History files
and a few more. If your crazy about space you can turn off system restore which will save you some space. (I wouldn't do it because sometimes my computers do strange things and this stops it some how).
Go to add remove programs and look for programs which havent been used for a long time.
