Pause, rewind, fast forward, music time

I think there should be scratch blocks like
[rewind sound _____ ]
[fast forward sound ____ ]
(music time)  and
[pause sound ____ ]

Re: Pause, rewind, fast forward, music time

Good idea, but i think it should be like this. [MusicName-----0--(Progress)xTime out of yTime] and able to show hide like a variable.

Actually, no. You can't use them to pause a sound, rewind it, fast forward it; they can only stop and play sounds.

I wouldn't be using them, but sure!

ya i know but as far as animations you can use variables for stuff like that. search old blocks i think they have a rewind block in there. oh and just for fun to see if it will work....

You could create a real accelerating engine  tongue

Re: Pause, rewind, fast forward, music time

I don't think the rewind would add much, but the other functions would be useful.

Acually, it would probably add a little. If you want to make a project with the main music as a rewinded sound or multiple rewinded sounds, it would probably add much.

Retired from Scratch, but just the language itself. Not the forums.

Re: Pause, rewind, fast forward, music time

My suggestions for the next version of Scratch could be:

Blocks like: touching color of _________, broadcast _________ and _________ at the same time, reverse sounds, reverse costumes & backgrounds.
New sprites
New costumes
A tutorial video for first-time users

Whoah... megabump! I agree - but it isn't so much of an issue at the moment because restarting the music shouldn't be a terrible problem.

Interesting suggestions! Maybe you could make your own topic to share these with the rest of the world? It'd get better attention that way.

Re: Pause, rewind, fast forward, music time

This is an old topic, but I still wholeheartedly support it! There's really a lot of missing controls for sounds in Scratch that would be helpful for some people.

That's what I was thinking. In Lego Racers 2, for example, the moter is more high pitched depending on how fast you're going.

Isn't there a block code for this in the Library?
