10/10/10 is 42 in Binary. You can thank Paddle2see for figuring that out.

42 is highly overrated. Douglas Adams only really meant it as a passing joke. However, yes, he did expand on it since it became such a popular reference.
By the way, the reason 42 is the answer to the ultimate question is because the street address of Stravro Meuller's cafe, Beta, is 42, and that is where Arthur killed Agrajag the final time, resulting in his ability to die, resulting in the destruction of Earth.

Actually, Douglas Adams stated himself that 42 was completely random. He selected it for no reason other than it was a completely insignificant and meaningless number.

Exactly. A passing joke about meaninglessness. It is elaborated on later though in Mostly Harmless.

Oh, so that part about Stravro was a joke? Now that I read it, I realize it's complete nonsense.

No, that was all true... that's when it's elaborated in Mostly Harmless...
Have you read the series?

42 is the answer to the ultimate question, as calculated by Deep Thought, the second most powerful computer in the world. (The most powerful computer in the world was Earth, an organic computer designed by Deep Thought to figure out what the ultimate question to 42 is.)

Which makes sense, because the creation of Earth resulted in the creation of the meaning behind 42. (See above post)

I have 42 messages at the moment
I didn't delete any or anything to get 42, I just got a notification from someone adding me to their friends list thing, and I previously had 41 messages and whatever
This whole 42 thing doesn't make a difference to me though, because I've never read that Hitchhiker's Guide book
Woah I need to cut back on the pronouns
