Why people claim they'll quit scratch:
If you see a project that is about quitting scratch, don't view it, because chances are, they're going to come back to see how many comments or views they get. So, chances are, they'll come back. DON'T HAVE SYMPATHY!!!
Why YOU shouldn't quit scratch (for real):
People often really quit scratch, too. Here's why
1: complaining about no views; part of scratch is about making top notch projects and GETTING people to like your projects. You can't just make dumb stuff and expect it to get views.
2: can't get on anymore because of stealing accounts; don't worry that'll happen, but you need to change your password frequently, and if it does happen, make a new account.

Dude no offense but your words are wasted
People will do what they want
And most often it is because they have no time for Scratch because they are 'big middle schoolers' or something

To be honest, I hate the word "quit".
People come back. They always do. I've taken about 3 breaks from scratch. It was for a long time and people might of thought I quit but I came back. I always do

Well, some good projects (like mine) don't have many views.

Quitting is hard.
I went inactive, but never quit. People can make their own decisions, if they want to quit or not

Middle school is easy
I have too much free time
Well not really but yeah whatever
People really do quit Scratch I guess. Most people that make a huge deal about quitting are going to come back though. People who actually quit usually just do so by slowly going away or something
Or so I've heard that is. Nowadays everytime I see a thread about quitting, the person either comes back within a matter of weeks or hangs around their quitting thread for days talking about how much they're going to miss everyone, then finally decide to stay
Bleh
Oh and when people complain about not getting views, that annoys me. Even if they don't have views, they should make a thread in S&T about it rather than complain everywhere but there

Bleh.
And true.

Believe it or not, a lot of people quit because the want to. Sometimes in the case of forums. Some people like me don't make many projects (which i hate myself for), and just use the forum. Anyway, people can do what they wish.
No offense intended.

We can quit if we want to

So... you're saying we have to stay on Scratch forever and ever and ever and ever?

It really depends on what's the reason.
If they're quitting because they got a few mean comments, then it's stupid.
If they quit because of schoolwork, then that's reasonable, but I'd suggest going on "hiatus" or going on occasionally.
It really depends. I don't like it when my friends quit, but it's their decision.

Let's sum this up.
Some people are strong-willed, and quit forever.
Some people just leave for a bit, then return.
Everyone will quit sometime, it's inevitable.
