So if you are banned you are not allowed to make new accounts?

Correct. If your account was blocked DO NOT try to create new accounts. Doing that only extends the length of the block and increases the chances of getting your network blocked. Basically when your account is blocked contact us and wait for our response. Do not do anything else.

Whenever we find out that someone has done this we block the new account and most likely the network too. In some cases we block several networks. It then becomes a cat and mouse situation that is just not worth it.

lolz - if anyone got a new internet and made a new account they could fake being a split personality thus making it impossible to work out who they were...

Sometimes this happens, but it's generally pretty clear when it does. That's one reason we added "Be honest" to the TOU (see link at bottom of the page).

But let's keep this on topic please.

Re: The TOU on Scratch boil down to this: Don't be mean

It was a good project, but I kinda knew this was going to happen, having re-read the entire TOU after the troll attack in the summer. I mean, RHY was a troll. A good programer, but a troll none the less. Then came the comics, and, well, read the OP. So, I feel sorry for those who loved the project as I did, but, well, RHY was a troll so it got removed.

RHY was mean to many members of the Scratch community over an extended period of time. I don't think it would be appropriate to list publicly the different members of the community who were affected. Do you?

It isn't really important.  The Terms of Use require that people not be mean to *anybody* on Scratch.

If you asked any of the 'many members' that he was hypothetically mean to, what would they say?
I've only know him for 5 or 6 months, but he's a great person and a great friend. I think he deserves a second chance, but I know you probably don't care what I think

How many times do you have to warn people before you block them? I've gotten messages a couple times.

Actually, we do. And character references from other Scratchers do mean something.

We're open to the possibility of a second chance, but given the amount of deceit that has happened, it won't be soon. But ask Rhy to contact about this, and we can discuss the possibility.

It varies depending on the situation. If a comment is clearly made by someone who is intentionally trolling, the account can be blocked immediately. But if it's someone who is a contributing member of the community, we generally give a few warnings before blocking. And in most cases, that block isn't permanent. If someone gives their word (and hasn't done anything to make their word difficult to trust), we generally unblock after 3 days.

Really, RHY is refusing to be respectful. Doing disrespectful stuff occasionally is fine, but he is saying "I will never be respectful!"

Kind of makes me lose my respect for him.

Well, I'm sure that's exactly what he must think of you
By the way, you're completely wrong about him

He has a point. If RHY has explicitly said that he will not be more respectful, why would he be unbanned?

Hmm... easy now everyone. While you may disagree with someone's choices, that's no reason to be disrespectful or make blanket statements about them - even if you feel that they have been disrespectful.

fullmoon means that RHY would have been unblocked if he agreed to be more respectful in the forums. According the Scratch Team, RHY had not agreed to become more respectful, therefore, he is still blocked.
