One trip to A&E later, I was told I'd pulled my Achilles. Lovely.

So, a few months after, that healed, and I thought it was all over.

Then today, I was picked to help the receptionist doing jobs (passing on messages, doing physical jobs like moving chairs, that sort of stuff) and I was okay. I was constantly on the go, for over 2 hours non-stop. I was still okay.

As the day went on, my ankle started to throb, and I started limping. I'm goi8ng through physio, but this has set me back.

I made a topic about it before, ages ago. And I mention it on some projects.
Anyways, I'll bring you up to speed.

Arrive at hospital 7am. Wait 9 or-so hours, have operation. Starving. Stay in overnight. Go home. Evil cast. Brace for 10 weeks.

That's basically it.

I fell down the stairs and fractured my knee like a week ago. I have to use a crutch/wheelchair all the time.

Once I broke my left arm and had to do everything with my right arm.

Then once some neck bone came loose or something, and I couldn't do anything for about a month.

That sucks. At my local playground, I was reading when I heard some kids making of a kid in an electric wheelchair. The kid rammed the kids and sent them flying. It was so funny!

I think I'm in it for a month or something.

And it pretty much covers my leg save my toes.

Ouch. My cast was just to my knee...
2 weeks full plaster cast with extra bandages for protection
10 weeks walking brace, still couldn't put any pressure on it at all.

Despite all this, I refused to have a wheelchair, they didn't offer me one anyway. The crutches don't like wet weather and I nearly broke my knee in McDonalds. I hit a wet patch and slipped knee-first. And I fell down the stairs about 3 times.

It's not too bad, but physio is evil and I've been off PE for a year.
At least my doctor was wrong - he said I might never walk (properly, I think) again.
But I can kind-of walk!  big_smile

Re: Ugh, not AGAIN! I can't WALK! :(

Wow. My knee should be fine. My doctor said I was the luckiest unlucky person on Earth because I landed in a way that my kneecap fractured near vertically but stayed in one piece. It's risky though, I need a cast because if I smash it or something it will split in half, and then I have to either stay in bed for 3 months and have 5 months of physical therapy, or I can have scarring surgery that will replace my kneecap with nitrogen-coated titanium.

So yeah, I'm not in the best condition at the current time  lol

Ouch. You are lucky. Uh, I tried looking up my problem on the internet before the surgery. I wouldn't recommend it, as it can really worry you. But I found out I'm SPECIAL!  big_smile  I don't think 'accessory ossicles' are a common thing, especially so bad that it looked like I had 2 ankles on one foot. I could pop the tendons in and out. It was horrible! I could show a picture, but it's so disgusting it's be removed.
Surgery isn't bad, I was starved for 19 hours and my op was put back 9 hours, and I had to stay in overnight, but all I have is the 7-8cm scar and some pain occasionally.
I'm flat footed too, so that doesn't help either. You'll be okay, I'm sure. I was told by my unenthusiastic doctor the anaesthetic could have killed me, unlikely as it was. And he said the surgery could ruin my ankle forever.  yikes  Lol I actually wasn't scared! I had a TV on the ward!

What kind of an antidote kills you?!

I guess if you're going through unbearable pain it might come in handy, but really?  tongue

I find it ironic they are called 'accessory' ossicles and yet they are so graphically horrid they might be removed  lol

The anaesthesia, what they put you to sleep with - there's always a risk.
Yeah, I stopped being able to walk, so I didn't fancy spending life on crutches or in a wheelchair.  smile

Yeah, they're not that bad really, but if you're really squeamish about anything 1% gross, you'd puke. It nearly came through my skin, lol!  lol
Don't ask why I found that funny.
But yeah, it's worth it, though 4 months on it's still not healed and doesn't bend properly - they tightened the tendon on the outside of my foot, so it's like a tight rubber band.

Thanks, I've got my feet up now.  smile  I guess it was because today I went to...

PE Block (separate, down some stairs outside) TWICE
Go from isolation room to reprographics 4 times IN A ROW
Had to move 8 giant chairs down two flights of stairs, carry them around the school, down some stairs to the theatre.
Walk around school roughly 17 times
From reprographics to the outdoor bins twice
To isolation, and then to French block (separate from the school building) THREE TIMES
That's just some of it. Oh, and up and down stairs about 6 times. It's easy to see why it hurt.

And after all this, all the thanks I get is basically being told off for being 'too slow', and once, I was given the wrong name of someone I had to track down, I couldn't find the person, so I got told off. I got told off for going to do a job with the boy also on duty - I don't see that as bad, seeing as I needed to empty TWO bins.  mad
And I got told off because one teacher looked like she was waving at the people behind us, when shge wanted us to do a job. She said we were 'unacceptable, traipsing around the school'. What were we MEANT to do?

Hmm... i think i know what i'm getting you for christmas!

Sorry about that, I just had to say it. Really, that must suck. I hope your leg heals soon  sad
Once, at camp, there was this muddy hill that everyone raced each other down for fun. I decided to try it, so I got in position. I started running down as hard as I could but, because it was so muddy, I slipped and fell forward on my hands. Not only were my clothes ruined, but I think I sprained my wrist.

I'm really lucky compared to some of you. My friend and I hit bikes full-speed last summer. I flipped, and my bike landed on top of me! My friend's bike tipped and fell into a ditch. Our injuries? Just scrapes and a cut pinkie finger. I'm lucky.  big_smile
