How do I add a sprite to show up in the middle of a program?

Hi!  I'm a teacher and I want to use Scratch with my students.  I'm practicing with it and I want to have a  new Sprite show up in the middle.  I tried creating a 2nd stage and adding the new Sprite there, but it still shows up at the beginning. Can anyone help me?

I made a project to help you. Good luck!

If for example it's an animation and you want to make a new character show up in the middle of the animation (I don't know if that's what you're really doing, but this is just an example), then you'd use the hide block when the green flag's clicked, use the wait _ seconds block to tell it how long to wait to come in, and then use the show block to have it show.
