Browser compatibility

I've heard from a colleague that when she authored a project in Scratch and exported it for the web, some of the features didn't work across browsers.

Has anyone else experienced that?  I guess it must have something to do with the version of Java on their machines?

Yes, some features do not work online, such as show/hide variables. Also, depending on the speed of your computer, projects have a tendency to lag and create glitches online. However, if viewed offline, there obstacles are not present.

Re: Browser compatibility

I have found some issues with browser compatibility as well. You might consider using a tool like the Adobe Browser Labs (https://browserlab.adobe.com/en-us/index.html). This is a free tool that will show you what the site looks like in most popular browsers. It does a pretty good job, and will help especially if you have a mac and can't see it on IE6.

Good luck!

New Scratchers can't post clickable links.  tongue

On topic: Yes, projects have a tendency to be glitchy online. It's really just because of the Java player, so always download projects for best performance.

Fixed, BBCode should work.
