this is getting rediculous. (NFL)
Seriously. I just watched the Steelers vs. Raiders game today, and it was some horrible calls. Recently, the NFL has been making a scene about James Harrison, (Steelers #92) Fining him tons of money for hits. The first 2 fines ($75,000 total) weren't even called penalties. He's kept on getting fined, along with a few other players. His job is to hit people. Now the NFaiL is fining him for being too awesome at his job. Now, to this game.
The refs were horrible. They called penalties every other play, (mainly on the steelers) and on the flip side, didn't call anything when people started fights after the whistle. (although they did eject someone for punching Rothlesberger) Then, one penalty was called on (who could guess?) James Harrison. The call? Tackling the QB with his full body weight.

And I hate it even more how much they get paid.
Honestly, sports players are the people that should get paid the least, because there are firefighters (that risk their very LIVES!!) who have to work more than one job to support their family... fair? No. Not at all.

Don't call them wimps. They're supposed to do that to try to get the other team called.

actually, on the salary part I have to agree with you.
Edit: still doesn't make it any better looking. How can you take someone seriously when they do that?

No, I live in the USA but since all other countries call soccer football, I go along with them. I refer to "football" as American Football.

I personally think that flopping is cheating. I mean, the guy brushed your hand, you shouldn't act like you just got shot just so the other guy gets thrown out so your team can win.
As for the OAK vs. PIT game, I wasn't watching it personally, but my dad says it was pretty bad, and I'd believe both him and you, 16skittles. I think the QBs are being protected too much; I mean, they are football players, they should be expecting that they'll be hit instead of being treated like 7-year olds.
BTW, if you play QB, nothing against you, this is just against the NFL and their rules that I disagree with.

I didn't watch it, but saw highlights. I was watching Farve's demise...muahahaha...But from what I saw, it looke really out of hand. And punching the Steelers QB (can't spell his name) wasn't too kind.
I think American Football is a great sport. But that's becaue it's on at our house every week.

And seriously, it's their job to bring them to the ground. If they take pride in their work, they'll try as hard as they can to bring them down right away so they get no yards.
