It was so epicly awesome. The only scene that made me almost puke was that scene with the locket taunting Ron. Blecch.
What was your fave scene? Was the ending sadder than TS3's? Just spit it all out, people!
Fave scene: Ministry infiltration
Ending sadder than TS3?: VERY MUCH.

yes. can we condense this to one mega HP7 thread though? at least 5 threads about it.

I saw it last night and I loved it, but I found it was in no way sadder than the end of TS3.

ts3?
nvm, I got it. :p
And no, I didn't find it as sad.

I saw it.
It was awesome. I didn't cry at the ending, but I did cry at TS3's ending. It might be that I have memories of watching the original TS as a toddler, and the fact that TS3 is the last one, so it might not be a true measure of sadness.
Who else liked Voldemort's epic-pwnage lightning bolt at the last second of HP7?

That part was so awesome.
One part that scared me was when it's just quiet in the room, and the snake just suddenly jumps out of nowhere. I saw it coming, but I still jumped.

Yes, that part made everyone in the theater jump, even though we all knew it was coming.

That snake part was scary, especially for my mom, who is extremely scared of snakes. If the movie was made in 3D, everyone would cream their pants! xD

I actually thought that scene was really effective. Inappropriate as it is, there comes an age where you don't really mind it and it becomes more emotional ("OMG RON YOU MUST FEEL SO BAD!") than freak-out ("OMG FILMMAKERS WHY DID YOU PUT THIS INTO THE MOVIE!").
It was a fantastic film. I'm seeing it for the third time tonight.

I agree with this. The scene demonstrated the corrupting evil of Voldemort's soul and evoked a pretty great emotional response, at least when I was in the theater.
Overall I think the movie was very well done and stayed more true to plot of the books than the previous movies.

Thank you! You're about one of the only people I've spoken to who liked that scene. Everyone else criticized it for not staying true to the book; but it did happen to some extent during the book and I thought that even though the book was really good, parts of it aren't very cinematic. There's only a certain amount that you can stay true to the book, and Philosopher's Stone and Chamber of Secrets pushed that amount to its limits so the film was boring. This film was artistic and they had the time to keep almost all the plot in while not staying so true to the book that the film was dull. Perfect balance.
Best film of the series, in my opinion. The only downfall I thought was the pacing: the first forty-five minutes or so are jam-packed, the middle section is slow (but still good nonetheless), and the final half hour is, again, packed. It's inconsistent in that sense, leaving you feeling odd.

I'm going to go see this tomorrow. I hope it's good- people say it is, but who knows how I'll think? I didn't think that the seventh book was the best in the series, but I still thought it was EPIC.

I can't really say, but there's one random scene where the radio's playing and Harry and Hermione start dancing randomly.

It is effective, and pretty much what happened in the book (except what they were wearing). The part of that scene I didn't like was that Ron's eyes didn't flash red.
It was a pretty good scene, and an awesome movie. Watch it, anyone who reads this.

That scene was just too awkward.
If they rewrote Harry Potter Should Have Died so as to include the new movie, that could have chance at the cheesiest scene.

I agree with you about the scene. It wasn't in the book, but it did demonstrate the power the amulet had over Ron very well, and I think it provoked a much more emotional response from the audience than if they had gone along with the book and just used pictures. I think that small inconsistencies such as that are fine, as they just took the book and expanded it to make up for the fact that you can't use your imagination for a movie. The only thing I did not like was the fact that they did not use the invisibility cloak during the entire movie, which seemed to be a gross lack of foresight on their part since it is such a crucial part in the second half.
Also, I agree with the pacing in that I felt that too much time was spent in the forest, that dead middle zone. I almost wish that they had extended it out more during the chase, the period spent in headquarters, and at the end, and sped up the middle. While it was important for plot, it moved quite slowly for the rest of the movie's pace.
I am looking forward to the next movie very much, because I think that it will have much more action, and I am looking forward to seeing how the producers made it. The characters have to rob a bank, inflitrate hogwarts, and then secure it, which causes a war. I think that this could go beuatifully.
Favorite line: "Dobby doesn't mean to kill!...only to maim...or seriously hurt."
