Wisdom teeth :(

I'm getting my wisdom teeth out tomorrow, any advice on what I should do afterwards?

and please no horror stories, i'm nervous enough as it is, even if with the story comes advice, just no horror stories about wisdom teeth.

Re: Wisdom teeth :(

I know people who have gotten their wisdom teeth out. I've heard that much of the pain can be avoided if you take painkillers before your wisdom teeth are removed.

I've taken a long hiatus, but I still visit sometimes. Give me some time to answer any messages you post on my projects!

Re: Wisdom teeth :(

I had a wisdom teeth grow in last month. It hurt for a few days, then it stopped. What's with every other scratcher having to get them yanked out?

Re: Wisdom teeth :(

@ svinnik: thanks!
@ demosthenes: yah i heard basically take them right afterwords since you can't feel pretty much anything for a good hour afterwords, but i have heard take them BEFORE you feel pain.  i'm not allowed before i actually get them removed though  tongue
@ blade-edge: most people have to get them out, about 85-90%, I'm one of the vast majority who has to get them out.  not only are they in the way, but two of them are growing in sideways  tongue

Re: Wisdom teeth :(

My mom says it's hurts ALOT at first, but she said it's like a shot you get at the doctor, it's more of the initial shock that hurts. The rest is numbed.

Yeah, good luck. I don't really know, since I haven't even gotten in my wisdom teeth yet, but, still, good luck.  smile

Re: Wisdom teeth :(

I had a wisdom tooth that grew in RIGHT on top of my baby tooth, so my mom thought it was an early adult tooth. But then my ACTUAL adult tooth grew in, and my mom and dad were like 'WUT' and now I have a tooth that looks like it's split down the middle:

Re: Wisdom teeth :(

Oh god.

My sister got her wisdom teeth pulled out, and when I saw them, I almost puked. They were covered with blood, and were SO BIG. She told me that you won't really feel anything, because you're asleep when it happens, but she told me it was scary.

Oh, and the bad news.

You'll have to wear this gauze where your teeth used to be and not be allowed to eat a LOT of stuff for an entire WEEK. Sorry.

Re: Wisdom teeth :(

lol thats not so bad, the gauze isn't for a whole week they said for me.  and as for not being able to eat a lot of stuff, that really won't be an issue, i've had braces put on so i'm prepared.

I have enough meal replacement drinks for a week as well as soft foods.

Re: Wisdom teeth :(

Supposedly I'm be one of those lucky people with no wisdom teeth that need to be removed.  smile
However, I've experienced my fair share of dental pain in the past, and I've just learned to grin and bear it, while drinking meals through a straw the whole day.

I don't see what the big deal is. I have all of my wisdom teeth and have never had a problem  big_smile

@Telemachus: same here. I had to get FOUR shots in my mouth a few weeks back because I had four cavities that needed to be sealed lol. I hate how it feels >.>

Re: Wisdom teeth :(

don't they usually give you a sedative thats nicknamed "Six pack"? I heard it makes you feel like you drank a six pack of beer (hence the name).

You'll lose all your wisdom. Play Dungeons & Dragons as a druid will be hard.  lol  Actually, I have no idea. Haven't had any experience with 'em. Good luck.

Re: Wisdom teeth :(

Ah, I had mine a removed a while back. Got a prescription for painkiller, but never, ever got them because I never needed them.  tongue

You know what I did? The first day, I slept for a few hours afterwards with ice packs on the sides of my mouth. So, I slept through the pain.  big_smile

There really isn't much afterwards after that. The doctor will probably give you a list of things to do after the teeth are removed, from gargling with salt water to not eating hard foods for the first few days.

As for having teeth out, concentrate on something else like try naming as many Scratchers as you can!  big_smile

My teeth grow very slow.  big_smile
I still have to lose like eigth teeth and I'm 13.
But I have had braces on since I was eleven...
Anyway, my wisdom teeth already came in mostly, and I don't think I have to have them taken out.  smile
