I'm pretty sure that Japanese artists drew that and it is an interpretation of a "fairy". It is common in Japan to cosplay, but in other countries, not so much. So that makes it strange for us to see it.

The Uk magazine "Offical Nintendo Magazine" put that game in the "Top 50 scariest Nintendo moments", saying that the game is just wrong.

They said Giygas was scary, too, claiming it was "Un-Nintendo and very terrifying".  tongue

I know, but Nintendo often use happy cartoon characters when they need a Boss, not a horrifying face.
