My new site

Yes, you know the "Help test my server" thread. Now I got a working site that is still in progress (at the time of this writing).

http://ihaveamac.dyndns.org:8080/ is the URL. Remember to keep that :8080 at the end or it won't work. What should I add? So far I have that home page and hidden pages.

Oh, and the site hates Internet Explorer.  wink

Re: My new site

Congrats. Are you hosting it on a backup computer so you don't have to leave your main one running all day?

It's not finished yet, so the server will go up and down. Soon, it will be up all the time.

phpMyAdmin sucessfully blocked from intruders. xD

Re: My new site

Cool! But seriously, it's annoying me that every page I visit it tells me to get a different browser. Don't tell me to, because the answer to that is a big fat NO.

How do you get it to host on your own server?

Then deal with the message.

Why!?

Face it-IE is bad.

I think it's great. Better than FireFox, I know that, Safari *pukes*, I've never even tried Chrome, IE is the best. FireFox literally virus'd my computer, even though I got it from the Mozilla website!  yikes
And I don't care about your opinions, you don't like IE, but other people do.

Then get the Chrome Frame. It lets you use IE with the chrome goodness. I have a tag that activates it when you have Chrome Frame and are using IE. It will stop the message and render the page betterwink

New thing: Made the IE script more harsh. Now redirects! Get Chrome Frame or another browser.

I got q few q's for ya:

Are you using a virtual machine?
How in heck does your ISP allow you to do this? Mine never do/did.

And can I get some pointers on how to make the server thing work, got an old Pentium 4 computer just waiting, gathering dust.

1) I'm using a physical computer - MY computer.
2) It allows you to host sites. They even have one where you can host one on THEIR servers. Your space? 10mb.  lol

Don't - it's not enabled for ALL sites. Only sites that have a certain HTML tag, such as mine, are rendered in Chrome Frame. So other pages without this tag use the IE rendering engine.  smile

I'm just wondering how you turn it off--the logging out is annoying me.

IE is banned because
1) It makes the site look HORRIBLE.
2) It's plain bad.

Disable it in addons. What site is it bugging you on?

Even if you log in? The chrome frame isn't causing that. I know it.

Yes it is. Before I got the dang frame it would save my user and pass, and wouldn't log out while I was about to comment on a project.

That happens to me when I didn't have the chrome frame. So just use another browser, makes life easier.

Firefox has a such thing as "IE Tab".
