Tell your scary story now!

THE CLOWN IN THE BASEMENT---A SCARY STORY THAT MIGHT MAKE YOU WET YOUR PANTS!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was nearly three in the morning, there was no one awake. All except for little Chizuko, she couldn't stop thinking about those footsteps and crazy, demented laughter in the basement below her. Every night, at about the same time, Chizuko would hear a constant laughter and loud, banging footsteps that always boggled her mind. It was on this paticular night, she decided to go down there and take a look at things. She was scared, but she dealt with the fear. She slowly took a hold of the door knob and took a peek inside. Nothing was there and the sounds had stopped. She was now really frightened. Then a figure appeared to the far left of the room, sad and bored. Chizuko felt sorry for it, and being only 3, she walked up to it.

It stood alone. Suddenly, the thing concentrated on Chizuko and stared silently at her. This went on for some minutes until it took its hand and grabbed Chizuko by the hair. She headed for the door hysterically crying, but (just like in those dreams) she couldn't reach the door. She was running, but some force was pulling her back. In an hour or so, she had gained control of herself again. The door opened on its own, and Chizuko lead herself down the hall and up the stairs. She managed to bump right into hear father, who had just woke up from his 7-hour sleep. Good thing he had no work today.

Chizuko was slightly relieved. Her father looked down at her and asked, " What's going on, Chizuko? "  Chizuko tried her best to explain, but she couldn't catch her breath. When her father heard the word " basement ", he went down with his daughter on his side. She hugged him so tightly. In a split second, the being went down the basement door and out the livingroom door to haunt another house. He never returned to that house again.

In two years time, Chizuko and her father moved out, and the clown moved back in. Perhaps, there was something about that place he couldn't leave.

The world may never know...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hope that scared you people. Anyways, try a hand at making your scary story too.
For now, peace out!  big_smile

On the planet Uranus, There was a monster who just fond data about humans. He was a excellent scientest, so he made a machine that can portal anything to earth. There was a disease called anihugeitis going around, which made animals the size of the Statue Of Liberty. The monster caught the disease in a jar and put it in the portal to earth.

Meanwhile,on earth some kids were playing on a playground. The mysterious jar landed on the ground. The kids rushed to the jar and opened it. The jar opened and a hornet the size of the white house ate the kids. This was a big report on the news.
What will happen next?

Re: Tell your scary story now!

Here's a Pokémon themed creepypasta, straight from Creepy + Pasta:

After the fourth generation of Pokemon disappointed him so much, my brother tossed me all of his Pokemon stuff in disgust. I received hundreds of cards to add to my collection, the Blastoise plush he won at King's Island nine years ago, and the Diamond game that completely swept away his love for the game and all things associated with it. That chapter of his life came to a sad close while mine just gained something to continue on.

Admittedly, the games that had come out for the DS disappointed me as well; there was just something about it all that made the magic the games normally held fade away a little. As a person who grew up with the originals, generation four simply wasn't 'my' Pokemon anymore. Regardless, I wasn't going to turn my back on something that accompanied me through my childhood simply because the game disappointed me a little.

In fact, I wanted Diamond. Dialga was a hundred times better looking than Palkia and I rather enjoyed the thought of finally getting to be the one to catch it this time around instead of having to hack one or trade for it.

Before I continue, I must tell you that this doesn't involve Dialga at all. I just like it and originally wanted Diamond, but had to settle for Pearl because my brother got to Diamond first. This DOES start off with a legendary Pokemon, however, though I'm certain that if I had used any other, the outcome would have been the same. This happening seemed to be meant for me. Otherwise, it probably wouldn't have happened at all, which I would have been completely fine with.

I started up his saved game just to see what all he had. His save information said he had all the Pokemon in his Pokedex, even the ones that had yet to be released through wireless events, which reminded me that he really enjoyed using Action Replay codes to enhance his gaming experience. That was probably the only thing that caused him to keep the game for as long as he did, but even cheating gets old after a while.

After starting his game, I checked his party. He had six shiny, level 100 Rayquazas. Like all the other Pokemon he owned, he caught them using the lengthy 'encounter any Pokemon' code where you had to discard heart scales to indicate which Pokemon you wanted to catch at level 100. While the Pokemon encountered with this code were about as weak as if you had given them a large number of Rare Candy, I still recall losing to these six frequently.

I had used this code myself throughout my first play-through of Pearl, and I traded these across the net to increase my chances of winning at the lottery...or, at least that's what I did before a friend scolded me and I was more or less forced to start over cheat-free. While he needed no Pokemon to complete his Pokedex and he didn't need to win any extra items, trading was always a fun experience for me just to see where they came from.

So, I went to Jubilife City and into the Global Trading Center to see what I could get for one of these Rayquazas. I know I could have traded anything, but I secretly held a grudge against these six for beating me so badly all those times.

Once in the trading network, I offered one up for a Bronzong that I had picked at random out of the first list. Of course, I couldn't choose a gender, but I chose the required level to be 100, just to make it more or less an even trade. After that, I left for a little while.

After doing nothing of particular interest for about six hours, I came back to see if I had any takers for the trade. I immediately got excited when the trade sequence started up. I know it was just a simple Bronzong, but still, I like this process a great deal. You could send me a Magikarp and I'll get excited for a little bit.

You know how the process goes; I won't bother explaining the actions on the screen to you. Long story short, I received a shiny Bronzong named 'Hell Bell.'

I was shocked to get a shiny in return. I never got a shiny when I traded in Pearl...but the name was unsettling to me. Being a slightly religious person, I'm not comfortable speaking about anything pertaining to Hell or anything like that. Even writing this makes me feel like I'm provoking a similar event to happen again. Let's just hope this functions as a learning experience for you and not something else for me.

After leaving, I checked its stats. Everything was set at 666, its old trainer was named 'Beelze' (which, again, both points slip into my sensitive area), and it was caught at Lost Tower and contained in a Cherish Ball.

Clearly, it was hacked, but that's what I get for offering up a hack first.

The stats and other information of the Pokemon disturbed me only for the fact that I didn't like its name or information, but I assumed it was fine otherwise. Regardless, I didn't want it, so I tried offering it up for trade again...but each time I tried to put it into the GTS, the game informed me that the Pokemon couldn't be offered in a trade.

This had happened to me several times before when I tried to trade hacked legendaries. I assume there's something in place that keeps people from getting truly ripped off...but I was able to trade that Rayquaza and 'Beelze' was able to trade me Hell Bell this go around. I didn't know why it wouldn't allow me to offer it again.

I still wanted to be rid of it, so the only other option I had was to release it. Before I went to the PC, however, I checked the item it was holding. The sender had attached mail to it, which was always fun, even though your choices for what to say are severely limited and the letters always come out painfully cheesy (That's one of the thing I don't like, the revamp of the mail system).

I chose Hell Bell and selected to read the mail, though the letter wasn't set up like it normally was in the game. It looked like it had actually been typed out like you used to be able to do in Gold and Silver. The message was only three words long.

"Take me back."

I wasn't quite sure what that meant. I certainly couldn't trade it again. Even if I could, there was no way I could make sure Hell Bell got back to Beelze, so I discarded the message and went to the PC to release it.

I selected the 'deposit Pokemon' option and selected Hell Bell to release it, but each time the party sprite shrunk away, it immediately came back with a message saying something along the lines of "Hell Bell doesn't want to leave you!"

Again, this had happened before when I was clearing out my PC box in my second play-through of Pearl. I wanted a little more room and decided to release a Shinx that I had caught early on in the game, but it kept coming back. I had thought it was cute then and made the Shinx (now a Luxray) a permanent member of my party since it appeared to like me so much, but now it was just annoying.

When I checked Hell Bell again, it was holding another mail item. It made no sense, since I had taken it away the first time. I opened it and read a slightly longer message.

"I can't go back on my own. Take me back."

Again, I took the item and tried to release it. Another failure.

When I tried to simply deposit it, the game told me to remove the mail item from the Pokemon before depositing. I know I had, twice even....but upon checking it again, Hell Bell had yet another mail item in its possession.

"Lost Tower."

It was finally getting more specific, which I found oddly relieving rather than feeling a little uneasy as I probably should have been. At least I knew where it wanted to go...maybe it'd leave my party after I took it there. I'd like to know why this Pokemon was making my game behave so strangely. The Pokemon was hacked, not the game itself. As far as I know a decent hack doesn't affect the game and a bad hack can make it crash...but this was doing neither, more like something in between.

Eager to get rid of it, I left the GTS building and stepped out into Jubilife. I was too impatient to pick an actual flying type out of the PC, so I just taught one of the Rayquaza the move 'fly' and chose to use it. Strangely, when I picked Solaceon Town from the map, the game informed that I couldn't fly there. I know my brother had visited the city before, so I don't know why I couldn't go there. I didn't take the time to actually think about it; I just flew to Hearthome instead.

I didn't waste time in Hearthome. I simply left to travel through Route 209 to get to the Lost Town and hopefully rid myself of this strange Pokemon somehow by taking it where it wanted to go.

I immediately noticed the lack of people on the route. Granted, I don't remember who all was there to battle and things of that sort, but I know there were at least a few people around. The area was completely vacant.

Well, not completely. There was one person, who I didn't quite recognize, quickly pacing back and forth where I believe an athlete once ran. The sprite there now was of a white-haired old man.

Curious, I spoke to him, which was where it began to get a little weird for me. He didn't say anything that made sense, but babbled over and over for an annoyingly long amount of time, much like when you speak to a specific cyclist on the bike trail in Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald. You know, the one who knows where you got your bike because the name is all over it.

"RING THE BELL RING THE BELL RING THE BELL RING THE BELL RING THE BELL RING THE BELL RING THE BELL RING THE BELL RING THE BELL RING THE BELL RING THE BELL RING THE BELL RING THE BELL RING THE BELL RING THE BELL RING THE BELL RING THE BELL RING THE BELL RING THE BELL RING THE BELL RING THE BELL RING THE BELL RING THE BELL RING THE BELL RING THE BELL RING THE BELL RING THE BELL RING THE BELL RING THE BELL RING THE BELL RING THE BELL"

That meant nothing to me. I didn't bother speaking to him again, and continued to the tower.

Once inside, I tried to go up the stairs but something prevented me from moving for a moment. I thought all the hacked Pokemon had finally made the game screw up, but that wasn't the case. after a moment of complete silence, the sound of a deep, brazen bell began to slowly toll. (If you're curious about how that sounded exactly, start up your HeartGold / SoulSilver game. That bell is just like it.)
After about four rings, the tombstone in the center of the room cracked and shattered like someone had used Rock Smash on it. Beneath the tombstone was a hole. Since it wasn't allowing me to go up the stairs, I walked over and fell through the hole.

When I landed, I fell on a platform much like the one you find Arceus on in the Hall of Origin, except it was much darker. Where the transparent platform was white and glowing for Arceus, this one was more of a blackened red. It just seemed evil rather than the 'holy' vibe you get from the Hall of Origin. Coming from the platform was a set of wide stairs that looked as if they were made of black marble rather than white.

there was no way back up (I couldn't fly, had no diggers, and I lacked Escape Ropes), so I took the stairs and the bell (which I now assume was Hell Bell, considering that Bronzong is indeed a sort of bell) continued to ring slowly.

By now, I was feeling incredibly uneasy, but I continued down the stairs. As I went further, it began to get foggy and dark. when I reached the bottom, I was met with a narrow path with large pools of magma / lava on either side. It was beginning to look more like the cave in which you encounter Groudon in Ruby, except with better graphics.

The path continued in a straight line for about forty steps before hanging right for another forty and finally going up. The final path was long; magma still bubbled at the side and with each step I took, the ringing of the bell began to go faster - at least as fast as a large bell could ring - but it was still just an ominous, slow tolling. With each ring, I couldn't help but repeat what the old man NPC had said earlier. "Ring the bell."

Finally, I reached the end of the pathway, which was just as small was a 4x4 platform, and the bell stopped ringing. I wondered what I was supposed to do here; there was nothing to interact with, no way to release Hell Bell, and no way to get out. I received my answer in the form of a disembodied 'voice.' A dialogue box popped up.

"Oh, you've returned Hell Bell to me? I really appreciate it."

He faded into view one space in front of my sprite. It was just a simple 'gentleman' sprite. The party sprite of Hell Bell came out of me and stood in the space between us, facing him. The game informed me that I handed over Hell Bell.

Next, something popped up on the touch screen. It looked like the part of the trainer card where you sign your name. Again, the voice spoke.

"Would you mind telling me your name so I may thank you properly?"

Now, this confused me...actually, everything that was happening confused me, but this really threw me for a loop. First, the game should know the character name programmed into it from the start and, as far as I know, it can't actually recognize handwriting. Regardless, I began writing my brother's character's name, which was 'Dust.' I made the first stroke - it was in black 'ink' like normal - and made a 'D.' The voice stopped me.

"No, no, your real name, please. I can't thank you with a false name, you know."

My heart felt like it stopped for a second and sunk right into my stomach before violently bounding back up into my chest. How the hell did the game know that I wasn't signing my real name?

"Your real name, please."

Again, I began writing. Why I was listening to this, watching it all play out, when I could easily turn it off or start a completely new game, I didn't know. The thought simply didn't cross my mind at the time. I don't think it was allowed to.

The 'ink' in which I was now writing was a bright red color, but I still wrote my full name - first and last - in the space I was provided. After I was finished, the man spoke again.

"Good, now blow, please? We don't want the ink to smudge."

I blew into the mic and the 'ink' turned from bright to deep red. I was unable to make changes after that. Afterward, the screen disappeared and the man spoke again.

"Thank you, miss. You'll be happy to know that you now belong to me."

The bell tolled twice more as my sprite - currently male - turned to face me and shifted to the female sprite. It had brown hair and was wearing all black...just like I was at the moment.

Hell Bell moved forward, overlapping my sprite, and a final dialogue box popped up.

"Hell Bell used IMPRISONMENT!"

After that, my DS's battery died. I was shaken, I'll admit, but it just seemed like a twisted event brought about by some sort of secret within the game unlocked by a Pokemon, but now...

I can't sleep. Food seems to turn to ash in my mouth. No water can quench my thirst. People and animals both act as if the shadow of death is passing by them when I'm near. I'm not my own anymore. I belong to that man...and Hell Bell.

I don't know what became of that Pokemon, but if I received it, someone else is surely to do so. Use caution while using the trading system, please...and if you receive Hell Bell, don't hesitate to reset. Your special, once-in-a-lifetime event Pokemon aren't worth the cost of your very soul.

Re: Tell your scary story now!

Here's another story...
CHRISTMAS IS HERE! ----A SCARY STORY FOR YOU
_____________________________________________________________-
It was one paticular night, everyone in the Tri-county Area would gather around and sing Christmas songs. It was in an area with many buildings. Lights would surround them. Then the people would leave, but the lights wouldn't. The people would go away and turn the lights off every time. Then when they're all gone, the lights turn on again. There would be no one there!

The weird thing is, the only one who noticed it was Chizuko. It would always make her cry.
http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/6585/working13.png
One night, Chizuko went there after everyone had left. The lights didn't turn on this time! She was frustrated. She went all the way there all for nothing. She waited and waited. Nothing happened. Eventually, she left. That's when the lights turned on. Chizuko was puzzled. That's when she would see what appeared to be Santa, but she always disregarded it.

When Santa Clause would pass by, the lights would go crazy. Twitching on and off. Then when Santa is gone, the lights would stay normal. It would wait a minute and turn off until next Christmas.

Re: Tell your scary story now!

Since PandaGuy made another scary story, I might as well post another creepypasta I found on Creepy + Pasta, this time Zelda themed:

There was a long time ago when the Golden Goddesses still walked amongst their people. After the creation of the world, each deity fashioned a race to serve and glorify their names.
Din created the Gorudo, the mountain tribe. They lived upon the slope of the great Mt. Via, where they thrived by mining the mountain for precious metals. Din dwelt among her people and they gave praise to her as she instructed them in the way of the hammer and the blacksmith.

Farore created the Dekiri, the forest tribe. They lived within the depths of the Fairy Woods, living off of the land and profiting off of its bounty. Farore dwelt among her people and they gave praise to her as she instructed them in the way of the bow and the woodsman.
Nayru created the Hylians, the plains tribe. They built villages and lived off of the fruits of the fields and the sea, as well as through trading with other tribes. Nayru dwelt among her people and they gave praise to her as she instructed them in the ways of the farmer and the fisherman.

There was a boy who lived among the Hylians. His nets would not bring in fish, nor would his fields yield crop. “Who is this boy,” the Hylians would ask. “Who is this child who cannot hear what Nayru teaches?” Because the boy could not do these things, they cast him out. “Go and live with the Dekiri, in the Fairy Woods. Surely they will have use of you there.”
So, the boy left the villages of Hylia and joined the Dikiri in the Fairy Wood. He lived with them for some time. His arrow would not fall game, nor would his axe level trees. “Who is this boy,” the Dekiri would ask. “Who is this child who cannot hear what Farore teaches?” Because the boy could not do these things, they cast him out. “Go and live with the Gorudo, on the mountain slopes. Surely they will have use of you there.”
So, the boy left the Fairy Wood and joined the Gorudo on Mt. Via. He lived with them for some time. His hammer would forge no steel, nor would his pick break stone. “Who is this boy,” the Gorudo would ask. “Who is this child who cannot hear what Din teaches?” Because the boy could not do these things, they cast him out. “The Hylians and the Dekiri before us have passed you by. Truly, you are a useless boy.”

So, the boy left the slopes of Mt. Via and began to wander the land. “The Goddesses have rejected me,” he would cry. He truly was alone, a boy without friends. Now, this boy was clever, cleverer than most would dare to imagine. That very night, he hatched a scheme. “The people adore the Goddesses for the skills they preach, so I shall make their power my own!”
The boy climbed to the top of Mt. Via, where sat Din, the Goddess of Power, Fire, and the Earth. “Great Goddess of Power, it is said that your strength is beyond compare,” began the boy. “but I have heard talk from some of the Gorudo that not even you have the strength to hoist this mountain on your back and carry it across the land!”
Din rose up in a prideful fury. “Who speaks as this, doubting the strength I possess? I shall life this mountain upon my shoulders and carry it far into the east!” So the Goddess placed the mountain on her shoulders and began her march.

Within the mountain, the blood of the earth began to seep into the caverns, liquid fire bubbling as Din’s ire fueled it. Where the goddess stepped, the land was scorched, leaving a desert in her wake. She reached the edge of the Hylian Plains and stopped before setting the mountain down on the eastern side of the grasslands.
“Let done doubt my strength again,” came the voice of Din.
“Oh, surely none are as strong as you, Goddess, but what of your people? The men of the Gorudo are within the mountain yet, and the bubbling blood of the earth threatens to burn them alive! The hot sun beats down upon their wives, waiting in a land turned wasteland for their husbands to return to them!”
Din was shocked to see what she had done. She entered the mountain and hardened the skin of the men until it was as rock, so that they might withstand the scorching heat of the magma. She entered the desert and darkened the skin of the wives so that they might endure the sun, raising great cliffs to provide shade.

When the men came out of the mountain and returned to their homes in the desert, their wives screamed in fear at the hardened skin of their husbands. “What curse has Din laid upon us,” they cried. “What provoked her to remove us from our mountain and our men?” They cried this for the mere sight of their husbands caused them to recoil in horror at their grotesque appearances. “We shall have no more of men,” they cried, driving the men from the desert. They settled in the cliffs and named themselves the Gerudo, turning their backs on the Goddess.
The men cried out from the mountainsides. “What curse has Din laid upon us? What has provoked her to remove from us our wives and our homes?” Their anger fueled their strength as they tore into the mountain, carving out caves and vast hollows. So great was their fury that the mountaintop exploded in a rain of fire and rock. They settled in these caves and named themselves the Goron, turning their backs on the Goddess.
Seeing her people reject her, Din fell into despair. In the depths of her grief, the boy came to her and stole her power away, claiming it for himself. “Now none are as strong as I,” he proclaimed. The boy then left the mountain and entered into the Fairy Wood. He climbed to the top of the tallest tree in the forest, where sat Farore, Goddess of Courage, Wind, and Nature.

“Great Goddess of Courage, it is said that when you play your flute, the world dances. Yet there are those among the Dekiri who say that not even your music would give the trees reason to lift up their roots and join in the reel.”
“Is that so,” asked the Goddess. “Then perhaps I should play a tune for them.” She raised a flute to her lips and played a jig. The notes wafted through the forest and the trees stirred in their plots. The Goddess increased the pace and roots sprang from the ground as the trees rose to give motion to the lively tune. The Dekiri, who had made their homes in the trees, cried out in fear as they leapt from their homes and avoided being trampled by the reeling trees. They fled to a nearby clearing, where they believed themselves safe.

The Goddess noticed this and stopped playing, but the trees began to hum the tune themselves and continued to dance. The homes they housed in their limbs were torn to pieces as the trees swayed their many arms. In a panic, the Goddess led the trees deeper and deeper into the forest, where she bound them. The trees were dubbed Deku, and the area was named the Lost Woods, as the continuous dancing of the trees made it impossible to navigate. To this day, you can still hear the trees singing the song.
The Dekiri cried out, “What curse has Farore laid upon us? What has provoked her to destroy our homes and possess our woods?”

The Goddess heard these words and was angered. “I did my best to save you from my folly and this is how you respect me? You call yourself cursed, so cursed you shall be! You whine as a child whines for a lost toy, so children you shall remain for eternity!” And so, the Goddess laid the curse of youth upon them, allowing them to never grow old and yet die young with life unfulfilled. To guard over these children, she appointed a guardian spirit to the tree upon which she sat. The Dekiri, in their spite, took the name Kokiri and turned their backs on the Goddess.
Seeing her people reject her, Farore fell into despair. In the depths of her grief, the boy came to her and stole her power away, claiming it for himself. “Now none are as cunning as I,” he proclaimed. The boy then left the wood and journeyed to the great lake of Hylia, where resided Nayru, Goddess of Wisdom, Love, and the Sea.
“Oh Goddess of Wisdom, your knowledge knows no bounds and your word is respected by all. Yet, I have heard some talk among the Hylians that not even your words could tame the seas. Surely if you proved them wrong, they would be grateful to you for easing their lives!”

Nayru smiled, for she had seen through the boy’s scheme and had prepared for this. She stood and raised her hands above the waters. “Be still,” she called out, and the waters became flat and level, with only wind ripples disturbing the surface. The Hylians marveled at this and exclaimed to one another, “Look! The seas have been made calm! No longer must we pray for our safety as we cross the waters in search of fish to eat and goods to sell!” The Hylians began to lose faith, but Nayru fell not into despair.
As the boats set sail, monstrous creatures stirred within the deep. One ship was swallowed whole by a giant fish, one splintered by tentacles of water, and still a giant eel crushed another. The sailors prayed to the Goddess to protect them from these leviathans. Nayru, hearing these prayers, created a race to govern and control these creatures, and named this race the Zora.

Nayru then spoke to the Hylians, “Because you did not turn from me in your time of need, you will be blessed among nations. Your power will grow to encompass the others and you shall rule over them with wisdom and justice.” Nayru then spoke to the Gerudo. “Because you were the first to turn away from your protector in your time of need, despite what she had provided for you, you will be cursed among nations. For a thousand generations, you and your people will remain confined to the desert. Because you have forsaken men, so shall men forsake you. Only once in a hundred years may one of your wombs bear a male, and he shall govern you with fear and cruelty until his death.”
Nayru then spoke to the boy. “Child, why have you caused these terrible things,” she asked. The boy stood and spoke back angrily, “Your people reject me for I cannot learn what you teach! If I could gain the powers and skills that the Goddesses possess, then they would be sure to accept me!” The boy fell into despair as he realized he would not be able to obtain Nayru’s power.

The Goddess of Wisdom came upon the boy, and, in his despair, took the powers which he had stolen and returned them to her sisters. She then spoke again to the boy. “You truly are a lonely and miserable boy, but you have done many terrible things and punishment comes to all. You know of power and courage, but you will never receive from us the gift of wisdom. To you we give the curse of immortality, to live forever and watch all about you wither and die. However, so as you will not bring harm to our land and our peoples once more, we shall imprison you.”
The Goddesses rose into the air in a triangle pattern and surrounded the boy, gesturing towards him. In a spectacular flash of light, the boy disappeared and in his place was a mask. The mask was heart shaped, with two large, yellow eyes peering out above purple lines of darkness, spikes glistening on the edges.

“Your name is no more,” spoke Din.
“We give you a new one here and now,” spoke Farore.
“You are Majora, meaning trickster,” spoke Nayru.
“But Majora has another meaning,” came the voice of all three. “It also means ‘One who is alone,’ for no matter where you search or how far you travel, you will never find friendship or love.

Din spoke to the others, “My sisters, we cannot allow this evil to remain in our world, for his hatred and despair will surely leak out and corrupt the land!”
Farore sang out in agreement, “Then we shall make a new world to serve as his prison, so that ours is not tainted by his malice.”
“Do what you will,” Nayru said. “but know that I will not lend my wisdom to such a world. Let him craft the order as he sees fit.”

So Din, with her strong, flaming arms cultivated the land and created the red earth. Farore, with her rich soul, created all life forms that would tend the earth. After all of this, Nayru approached and said, “I give but one law for this world. Should all life within it one day extinguished, the prison will collapse and the spirit within set free.”

“Why do you do this, sister,” asked Din. “Why do you allow this window for one who has wrong us so greatly?”
“Because,” Nayru replied. “I pity him.”

Re: Tell your scary story now!

Another creepy story. Mods, if you think it's too detailed, just delete the topic, please! Replaced all of the cussing. Also, I didn't make this.

Ahh, the 90s. Life was so simple back then, for my generation. There was the Game Boy, the Nintendo 64, Animaniacs, Freakazoid....these things were all the highlights of my day, especially if I was doing them with a friend. I wasn't really into computers at the time; my family had dial-up and a cruddy Windows 95, which made everything so frustrating. No, my farthest exploits into the digital world involved me and my Nintendo 64. Super Smash Bros., Super Mario 64, Starfox 64, Mario Kart 64, and Pokémon Snap were my favorites.

After I had thoroughly rooted out every secret in these games, the only one that kept my attention was Pokémon Snap. I constantly went through every level trying to get the best possible shot of all the Pokémon featured in that game. What intrigued me was the realism in that game. In all other Pokémon games, everything was synthetic. You couldn't walk amongst the Pokémon and see how they interacted; you could only have them in a ball or following you around. One could argue that Hey You, Pikachu! was more interactive, but in the whole, only certain words are recognized and the scripted non-realistic events gave that game a disgustingly synthetic feel. The first-person 3D view of Pokémon present in Pokémon Snap gave everyone who grew up in the 90s something they could only dream of: a chance to live in a realistic Pokémon world.

So, eventually, we moved to a new house and got a PS2, DSL, and a computer that could run Half-Life, and I moved on the bigger and better things, but would often look back fondly at the simplicity of my childhood. My N64 and all the games were put in a forgotten corner of the basement. This brings my story to more recent events. About a week ago, I was at my friend's house. He is one of those people who are well-equipped and has many things: Wi-Fi, several computers, iPods, a Mac, a drum set, a piano, a Widescreen HDTV, surround-sound, guitars, a PS3, and whatnot. He was one of the people I liked to whoop in Super Smash Bros. back in the day. Anyway, we were hanging out and he had something he wanted to show me. He powered up his Wii and one of the channels was Pokémon Snap, which he proceeded to load. He had recently downloaded it from the Virtual Console. As soon as I heard the fast theme song and camera flashes, I was overcome with an intense wave of nostalgia - something I rarely feel these days - and really wanted to play that game. My friend loaded it up and selected continue.

For everyone unfamiliar with Pokémon Snap, the premise is that Professor Oak needs someone to photograph all the Pokémon on some island with many different environments. As you get more pictures and higher scores, new tools and levels become available to you, such as the apple, which acts as bait, the pester ball, which irritates Pokémon, and the Pokéflute, which wakes sleeping Pokémon. The player controls Todd, a character from the anime, who is riding in a buggy on a set track. The buggy moves at a constant speed, and it is from this buggy that you must take pictures. There are 63 of the original 151 Pokémon in Pokémon Snap. The levels, or 'courses' as Oak calls them, range from a beach to a volcano to caves and rivers. The island is a very diverse place, but even with my extensive playing, the darkest parts had eluded me...until recently, that is.

So, Professor Oak said "welcome" in his very creeper-ish voice recording. I always found it funny how the game had about one word of pre-recorded voice per two or three sentences the text box showed. Reliving our childhoods, we took turns playing a level and seeing who could get the best score. Soon, I had to go home, but I really did not want to stop playing Pokémon Snap.

When I got home, I went down into my basement and dug out the old N64, along with a musty-smelling cardboard box full of all the old cartridges, controllers, memory cards, and rumble packs. God, I missed this system. I hooked the RF cables up to the TV in my room, popped in Pokémon Snap, and shifted the Pokéball into the on position. A little more back-story here: when I got my N64, the Hey, You Pikachu! model was massively on sale at Toys R Us, and my mom decided to get it, as it came with the game. When you turn it on with the Pokéball switch, the Pikachu's cheeks light up, also, his foot acts as the reset switch. It's pretty cool. Anyways, when I turned the console on, the screen remained static. I pulled out the cartridge and checked the chip. Sure enough, it was covered in this black gunk. I spent half an hour getting that nasty stuff off. It was at this point I first noticed something strange: after the substance was removed, the chip was red with black rectangles along the surface, which I assumed were meant to be contacts. None of my other games had this black stuff, and their chips were light brown with the gold-ish contacts.

There were other oddities with this particular cartridge. There was no Official Seal of Nintendo on the label or anywhere on the cartridge. These are on all N64 carts, and most other Nintendo products from this era. Another thing was that there was no black label on the back that usually contains the typical "DON'T PLAY YOU'LL GET SEIZURES," kind of thing. The front label was also slightly off-center. These should have been red flags, but I am a pretty lax guy that just takes things in stride so I didn't really care. At this point, I thought the game was ruined by the goo and discoloration, but  I put it back in for the heck of it. To my surprise, the Nintendo logo popped on the screen. We were back in business.

So, the load screen came up and the upbeat theme song and camera flashes were playing just as they did earlier at my friend's house. It was then I noticed several visual distortions, which I thought were due to cart damage. There were three purple vertical streaks a few inches wide that went all the way down the screen, one on each edge and one down the middle. They were darker in the middle of the streaks, but you could see past them somewhat. I didn't mind that much; it was minor inconvenience.

Next, I pressed start and to my surprise, I found that there was no continue option. I guess my saves had been deleted by battery failure. All of those hours and hours of hard work and completion were gone. Oh well, I probably would have started a new file anyway.

I started the new game and more strange things began to occur. I found myself in Oak's lab. His features were changed. His eyes were black with no pupils and he had a stern look on his face. That, coupled with the purple distortion that ran along his left half, made him very disturbing. All the text dialogue was normal, but the pre-recorded voice  bits I mentioned earlier were distorted. They came out slowly at low pitch. I was reminded of the demon voices from early shooters like Doom...but other than these things I attributed to cart damage, the game play was normal...or so I thought. All of this was starting to make me a bit uneasy, but I was a man of science. I didn't believe in ghosts or God or Underworld, and prided myself in overcoming the irrational fears that many suffered from. Oh, to be young again.

I went to the first course, the beach. There were more visual distortions. All Pokémon had no pupils, just pure black eyes. Also, on the ground underneath where the Pokémon sprites were, there was a purple ring. It appeared even under the flying Pidgeys. The other distortion here was that the sky was a light green and there were no clouds or sun.

The movements of the Pokémon seemed unnatural and cold, like they were afraid of something. I played through the course, but as I took pictures, the Pokémon that were in the frame disappeared. Slightly concerned by this, I didn't take pictures of Pokémon that wouldn't count until later, such as Snorlax or Chansey. As I approached the exit gate, I turned around and saw one of the circles that indicated that a Pokémon was there following me, but there was no sprite. I snapped a picture and was taken back to the lab.

I selected all the pictures for the Pokémon Report, but, strangely, the last picture I took was not there. The rating process went as normal, but at the end, Oak said, "Nice work harvesting." There was a brief pause, and then he said, "......you let it in didn't you? Well, you know what this means....go to the tunnel."

I assumed that he was referring to the Tunnel Course, so I went to the map and it was now available. As I entered the course, I noticed that I now had all the tools: the apple, pester ball, and Pokéflute. I went through the course and found that it had the same visual distortion as the beach. At the end, I tossed an apple at the Electrode by the rocks and the path to the volcano opened up. The electrode looked like it was in extreme agony, not like the comical explosions seen before. It seemed to be begging for help.

As the traveling cutscene took place, I saw the purple ring with no sprite again. It followed me. Strangely, there was no cut back to the lab after discovering the course like it was supposed to. It just took me straight to the volcano level. A quick survey of the area showed that the visual distortions were getting worse. As I moved forward, the Ponytas and Rapidashes were running, then jumped into the lava and gave off low-pitched screams. All the Pokémon did this as I approached. I finally reached the egg, which blocked the path. You are supposed to throw an apple at it so you can proceed, but I found that my tools were gone. This was problematic, and I took this opportunity to get some dinner. I didn't pause the game because there was no need to. When I got back, I saw the purple ring again. It was in place, motionless, behind me. I also saw something else coming from the distance. It was an Electrode from the tunnel rolling down the path. This Electrode must have been the one I blew up, as it had a look of anger and revenge in its eyes. I could do nothing to get away, so I sat and watched. As soon as it hit me, it exploded, which caused my buggy to flip on its side and go top down into the lava. A travel-like cutscene played, but it was slow with distorted audio. The low-pitched screams of the flailing, burning Todd were heard.

I was back in the lab and Oak looked angry. He said, "You let it get to you, didn't you? Well, you only have yourself to blame." The screen faded to black and the course selection screen came up. Oak was standing alone, and the only option on the screen was "[underworld word removed by poster]," which was spelled with three L's. The go back option was gone, so I had no choice but to click on it.

The camera zoomed in on the charred corpse of Todd that's bottom half was under the upside-down buggy. Everything was ultra-realistic, and this was on a pedestal of stone in an endless sea of fire and lava. All of the Pokémon I had taken pictures of and made disappear were floating in the lava, screaming in low-pitched voices. Suddenly, there was a camera flash. The screen swung to a demonic figure with a camera taking pictures of the corpse. After he had a few pictures, he curb-stomped Todd's head and took more pictures. Then, a low-pitched demonic, "Say cheeeeeese," came out of the speakers and my whole room lit up for a second. That scared the crud out of me, and when it was over the screen was dead black and the system was shut off.

I hit reset, because I knew it was just a game and it couldn't hurt me. That stuff was pretty sick, but I had seen worse on the internet. I wanted to see what happened next. As it came on the screen, the menu came up and the only option was to view the album. I hit A and immediately wished I hadn't. The album was filled with hundreds of photos, all of horrific torture and mutilation scenes. Many of these pictures involved children. These photos were not in 64-bit, but appeared to be authentic, scanned photos. At this point, I was overcome with nausea, but it got worse. The game force-scrolled to the end and zoomed to the final picture. It was the picture I had taken of the purple ring without a sprite....only now there was something above it. It was a picture of my dead body floating a foot off the ground. The sickest part was that there was a camera jammed through my head.

The screen faded to black. I was so terrified by the whole event that I broke the cartridge in two and ditched it in two different dumpsters behind restaurants on opposite ends of town. A few days later, I asked my mom if she had done something to my Pokémon Snap game. "Oh, yes..." she said. "When we moved here, I was carrying that box down to the basement and that game fell out and broke. When I went to pick it up, I found that it had fallen into a crack in the crawlspace. I couldn't find it. I'm sorry about not telling you, but I thought you had outgrown that anyway." A lock of shock must have come to my face, because my mom asked what was wrong. "Nothing," I said. "I'm fine." I decided not to tell her.

A week has passed and I am bringing my story to the internet in the hopes that it may help someone else, or at least entertain. I do apologize for the length, but I feel that the details are necessary. What scares me the most is not the photographs of the mutilation or my dead self. What scares me the most is whatever the heck is in my basement that can make a broken game into something so gruesome. Thank God I'm moving out soon!

Re: Tell your scary story now!

Pokemon Sapphire got me hooked on the game. I researched more about this wonderful world, and eventually discovered Bulbapedia. After a few weeks of eager surfing, I came across the Lavender Town rumor. I was very superstitious, and believed the stories. But I was also curious, and finally got my hands on the Pokemon Red game(where the myth originated), thanks to Ebay.

I immediately checked the cartridge for any flaws, fearful that I might have a hacked game. I found none. I started up a game, and saw that there was already a saved file. I was still suspicious and deleted it, starting a new game. The game, luckily, went as per normal, although the graphics were bad. I tensed a little when Lavender Town came, but nothing bad happened.

The first strange thing was when I battled Blue. His pokemon sprites were distorted and his last pokemon was Pikachu, which I don't know he owned. After a long battle, I finally whittled his last level 100 Pokemon to 8 hp. And then the Pikachu used Perish Song. Unimpressed, I tried to finish it off, but it said my pokemon refused to move.

After 3 turns, both pokemon died, of course. I thought I'd win, since I still have a nice, shiny Rayquaza in my party, and Blue didn't have anything left. But instead, my Rayquaza was forced to battle Blue. I didn't know why I didn't turn off my Gameboy. I just couldn't. I was too fascinated.

Anyway, after my Rayquaza used an ineffective move against Blue, Blue used Takedown, and my Rayquaza was instantly defeated. Frustrated at the annoying hack, I stared angrily, but then Red was forced to battle Blue.

The moves were weird. Stuff like Destroy, Death Ring and Doomsday. I picked Death Ring randomly, and a horrible noise came out of the speakers. Something like a mixture between the Lavender Town music and a distorted version of Pikachu's death sound, except played at a much higher pitch and 3 times as loud. I threw the Gameboy against the wall, and it crashed and broke, stopping the endless, screeching noise.

My life was never the same after that. Sure, I wasn't possessed by a ghost or any thing like that, but I was always creeped out by Pokemon Red after that.

And sometimes, late at night, I can hear the noise again. It always comes from the broken Gameboy in my junk box.
