time?

it would be kind of neat if there were certain blocks that would work with the time application on your computer. anyone agree?

Re: time?

Yeah, it would be great!

You could use it to make scheduling or reminder type projects.  How about a You simulator - depending on what time it was, the character in the project would be doing the activity that you would normally be doing?  How about a project that gives you the local time for areas around the globe that you might be interested in (such as the local times for other Scratch members you might be working with)?  How about a project that shows the current Sunrise/Sunset lines on a world map?

Let's see what other project ideas people can come up with.  Maybe if we get enough, the Scratch development team will put them in!

Re: time?

That's one of the best suggestions I have read recently!

How about greeting cards or celebrational calenders that come with a time frame? Or a game that behaves differently according to the season of the year (e.g. one that lets you paddle in summer and ice-skate in winter  wink  )

Re: time?

I really like the idea of an ocean scene that has a changing water level as the tide goes in and out - synchronized to the real time so it not only looks pretty but you can use it as a tide clock too!

Re: time?

well, i thought of a built-in clock in the game that changes the background between night and day. but your ideas are good, too!

Re: time?

Maybe a clock that keeps track of nature. For example, at dawn, a bunch of birds come out, and during the day there are hedgehogs, and at dusk, bats, and at night, owls!

Re: time?

You could re-make the animal crossing games. Like catch butterflies in the spring, roll around snowballs in the winter, and stuff like that. :3
