10 years later...
"Gather round, children, around the electronic campfire, and I'll tell you stories, of the Scratcher who discovered the book Cool Stuff Exploded, and of the time when the forces of evil reigned, and the Scratch Team had to disable images..."
New Gen:Wow! Is it true that the earlier Scratchers actually had to type using a keyboard?"
Me:"Yes, indeed."
New Gen:"Life WAS tough back then."
Me:"And did you know they could only IP ban, not DNA ban you?"
New Gen:"0_0"

That's why we need statues depicting us in all our glory.
I'm proud to say there will never be another me, and my ninjas will be around until the end the time to make sure of it

I've been wanting to leave since early this year but got to work up about everything and decided to stay scratchin' a bit longer just to keep practicing and what not.
i doubt I'll be on here for much longer though. (i can tell people are already starting to find my projects annoying.)

No, thanks. The posts had nothing to do with each other
Anyway, 10 years in the future, you'd be lying to a bunch of kids is what you're saying

P1: Lets Scratch v963.813!
P2: Cold! (new cool)
P1: Look! Swifty87 got on the front page!
P2: Remind me how we, er, I'll use the old-fasioned word here 'Program' things?
P1: Simple! Strap this to your head and it registers the brainwaves, and makes your game!
P1: Er, is that safe?
P2: Pfft, worst that can happen is the atomic sertonians explode and destroy the world!
P1: OK.... BOOM!

Whatever comes after Scratch 2.0 probably won't be released even until after 2020

I guess there's really not a time for leaving or staying.
You stay until you feel lke going.
Scratch is a great programming language, probably one of the best visual ones i've ever seen. Especially for kids. and getting bored always comes with time. the more you've been on scratch, the less you'll like it. mind, this isnt because scratch isnt a good option or a boring language, but you end up always putting the same blocks together. it happens with any language, take vb as an example. you'll get bored of writing MsgBox("hi") once the thrill of newness has past.
So, when you feel Scratch becomes too visual or too limitative for your ambitions, just change language. At some point, you'll look back at Scratch and say: "What lovely days those were, chatting about leaving Scratch in the Misc..."
Another point: Those beyond-fantasy predictions are not likely to happen in ten years of science. Given the rate at which evolution evolves, look back at the past 10 years' science improvements and multiply it by 1.3. Are we likely to have brainwave receptors in 10 years?
Oh - and those names. I'm pretty sure the database would need a bit of clearing up of old inactive users if that were to happen -- i'm confident about the fact half the scratchers would get to remember the first 5 digits...

I plan to stay on the forums for a long time
I'm jealous of all you guys who joined when Scratch first came out in '07. But when it's the year like... 2017...
NextGen: "Wow! Look at that user, they've been on the forums since '10!"
Me: "Too right. Look at you forum noobs *Tut tut*"

Just thinking about it, maybe scratch forums wont be here in 10-15 years. The Government might scrap the internet to save electricity and fossil fuels or something like that. Or scratch will move on in life and be a succesful future computer program

Why'd you put 'boob'. Is it Bob shouted or something!? Lol, I just found it...interesting.
I'd edit it out, seriously.

Oh, and in 10 years, the new buzzword replacing 'epic' will be 'Shmoosh'. And the mods will be people called:
FossilFuelsFTW
laptopsareso2010
cheddargirl
That's it.
