My experience with Minecraft so far.
Very mixed bag. The level building is fun, but you cannot save without buying alpha, which ruins the point. Multi Player is mixed too. Some servers are good, but many I saw were griefed beyond recognition. Add a slightly bleh community and...well...my point is, buy the alpha version. I would have if I wasn't broke.
However, it is very addictive, so, as phreakindee said, "either buy it, or avoid it like the plague."
