Twitter is social media. You can use it to say "I'm brushing my teeth," you can use it to say "A fish won presidency of Cuba," (assuming that was true), news companies use it to convey information. I like to think of it as more of a news centre than a social centre.

Facebook is for conversing with your friends.

They are both completely different, but overall I do prefer Twitter. It dosn't change all to time like Facebook and you don't get dodgy page requests  yikes
