Revised the topic post, added some programming help with Mesh features, explanations for Panther's Mesh blocks, and links to Scratch Wiki articles.

Are you talking about clicking Share to get Host Mesh and Join Mesh? That's not in the source code, it's the same Share button that you use to upload projects.

If I am correct, the mesh can be acessed only by shift-clicking the share button after this modification. The source code has no share button. Therefore, you cannot acess mesh features in the source code with only this modification. Is there any way to use mesh in the source code?

I don't get what you mean... no, you don't do mesh in the source code. You do it outside the System Browser.
Help please?

okay...
I downloaded the scratch 1.4 source code from info.scratch.mit.edu/source_code which is what scratch encourages people to use in mods, because the source code has the share button and the copyrighted scratch cat removed.
Since the source code has no share button, there is no way to acess mesh with only this mod.
Is there another modification to the scratch code to get the feature?
This is what the source code looks like when dragged onto the squeak VM.
It has the system browser, the scratch workspace, but no scratch logo, scratch cat, or share button.
EDIT: The source code is an image file, if that helps any.

Ah, I see your problem. You don't download the source code and edit it - you open up the normal Scratch program and do the steps in the topic post.

I'm sure it's possible, but I've never taken a look at the source code so I can't give any instructions for that. Try making a new topic in this forum asking about it.

Okay, awesome. That will help me. However, I have a question. Isn't dabbling in Shift+Click+R and then saving it supposed to mess up Scratch?
It only messes up Scratch if you destroy a vital part of the code. With editing the code to add Mesh, you're not changing something important - it won't mess up Scratch.

Where are you right-clicking? Once you've changed the "true" to "false", just right-click anywhere in the red box and select "accept".
EDIT: Here's a picture:

I don't get the variables in the [blocks]<[] sensor value>[/blocks] sensor value block.

Does mesh also allow lists to be shared?

Whoops, missed your post, sorry ^_^
The variables only appear during a Mesh session, and if the Scratch programs that you're connecting to have their own variables.

No, sorry Of course, you could convert the lists to variables as a workaround...
