Nostalgia Trip, Anyone?

Though I may not be a huge Sonic fan, I still have a soft spot in my heart for the Sega Genesis (Sega Mega Drive outside of America)(Samsung Super Aladdin Boy in South Korea). I still remember the day I found it. Some idiot left it in a dumpster, along with a copy of Sonic 2. Surprisingly, it was in perfect condition. o.o Well, I went off playing it. Now I have around 14 games, give or take a few, for the system. Well, recently, I dusted off my system to see it again. However, I wanted to expand my library of games for it, so I went on to Amazon to fetch a few games. But when I looked at the price tag, I almost had a heart attack; one copy of Sonic CD was $99.99! o.o For the love of...I thought the prices were supposed to be LOWER! X( So basically, I can't buy it, I need more monies. But I'm not asking for you money, I'm asking for fond memories! Do you have any memories of the Genesis/CD/32X system? The Sega CD (if you didn't know) was a CD based add-on for the Genesis, but it's more known than the 32X. The 32X is...well...it increased the Genesis's processing power to that of a 32-bit system. But what's even less known is that you could connect BOTH of them to the Genesis to make the Sega CD 32X. o.o Mouthful, isn't it? In fact, only FIVE GAMES were released for it, considering how expensive to buy all of the necessary components. Well, what kind of fond memories do you have? Later, I MIGHT make another thread about a different 4th Generation console, but for now, focus on the Genesis.  smile

Re: Nostalgia Trip, Anyone?

I have heard that the Genesis was awesome, but I never have played one. The only fond memories I have of old technology is of Windows 98. That was what the first comp I ever played, and my first real comp ran. Ahh, the memories.

Oh, and I have a tip for you: Buy on eBay. Why Sonic CD is so expensive is that the game is no longer made, so Amazon's stock of it is very low. eBay, on the other hand, is other people selling what they think is junk, so you will usually get better prices (unless the thing is very rare).

It's rare alright. THAT's why it's expensive ANYWHERE.

Re: Nostalgia Trip, Anyone?

I would be like (HOLY ----) and stuff like that if it wasn't inappropriate and if something else wasn't going on around this area. Anyway.

That is insane, aggie. $99.99? I would actually buy it and then sell it for $110.00, if I were you

Hm...I can see a Sega 32X on that thing. i mean, the 32X plugs into the cartridge slot so you can play normal Genesis games and 32X games. :3

Re: Nostalgia Trip, Anyone?

I have a Genesis I bought in August. I have 2 copies of Sonic the Hedgehog, 2 copies of Sonic the Hedgehog 2, a copy of Sonic the Hedgehog 3, and one Sonic and Knuckles original cartridge with the flip-open top.

Ah, I love that system :3

Re: Nostalgia Trip, Anyone?

Hm...it seem's that no one is talking about the 32X. o.o I guess it was TOO much of a commercial failure, or that it's too expensive.
