How do you make a list viewable?

The [wait until < >] block doesn't work. Or at least, not in this project.

yeah, you can -- just explore the source of the HTML of the viewer and you should find the address of the flash viewer itself -- then put it in your browser and you have the viewer stand-alone

This is the same address that shows up in my firefox window when I run the experimental viewer for a given project. But I can't run the experimental viewer if the project is not uploaded to the Scratch website, can I?

You can't add sprites or costumes

Re: Help test a new way to play with Scratch projects online!

In my last project (http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/s_federici/1364343) the Experimental Viewer shows up these glitches:

- the variable "time" when shown is at the wrong position on the Stage
- the digits above the balls ("show number above ball" script in Numbers sprite) are not shown correctly

They also show up in the Java Player (but don't in Scratch 1.4)

Is there anyone that knows how to get rid of them?

The glitch is not about the Java player or the experimental viewer. The glitch is about Scratch. More information available here.

Thanks a lot. The first glitch was easily solved thanks to your suggestion. Any idea about the second one? The digit sprite I use works fine in Scratch but only one number shows up in the Java and Flash players.

There still working on it. Lists aren't viewable yet. Neither are variables.

No glitches as far as I can tell... But can't you mess with the scripts on scratch anyway?

Re: Help test a new way to play with Scratch projects online!

Authoring always on, nice!!!

Turn behaves differently. It changes the forward direction but does not change the orientation of the costume. I like the collapsed tiles it free's up more working space.
The new category for "triggers" is nice and I assume used to avoid scrolling, I assume the new version of Scratch will be consistent.

Couldn't figure out what the "i" did other than display numbers over the sprites (new feature coming?)

Also in the line of icons with (lock, angle, x, y, ...) I couldn't figure out what the three icons to the right of the Sprite Name did.

Also running on a Mac using Chrome I am able to switch windows within Chrome using <CMD><,> but from within the viewer <CMD><,> did not switch back. It would be real nice if the ?world? (not sure of the correct term in Scratch, basically the area where the action occurs) could also expand to full screen.

Re: Help test a new way to play with Scratch projects online!

Ok, I found a bug:
When I took a(when key _ pressed) hat, and I clicked on the pull-down menu as usual, but then instead of letting me put my cursor on the key I want to select, it just closed, right after I had clicked it.
Is anybody else having this problem, or can tell me how to fix it?

Also: When I told it to play drum 45, 49, and 38, it simply played the same not for all three of them.

It happened to me for 'touching colour' when I tried to choose a colour.

I like it too in the Experimental Viewer, but I really hope that it WON'T be how the blocks and categories will be shown in the final Scratch 2.0 release.

One ot the thing that immediately cought my attention and make me and my students prefer Scratch over other Drag-n-drop programming languages likes StarLogoTNG or Alice, is the fact that the available blocks are clearly and immediately visibile when you start Scratch.

So that using Scratch really immediate and you can try all by yourself without even having to have a look at the documentation.

Moreover, the list of visibile blocks is "active", so that you can just click on a block in the list to experiment with it, without having to create a script. Invaluable!

Hmm, you bring a really good point! I hope they keep those features too...
