But why would anyone submit their design in advance of cut-off? :-)
It just gives competitors an advantage.

Well, I won't be announcing a cut off until I have sufficient entries to make a real tournement.
No advantage will be gained by submitting late, as after teh cut-off point for new entries, all players have 48 hours to ammend their designs before the battles take place.
But I need to know there are enough prospective players, or this will never get off the ground.

Unfortunately, thats what's called a Catch 22 situation then :-(
I think you'll just have to announce the cut-off and see what happens :-)

Very Well.
Cut off Date: 9:00 AM (British Summer time, IE, GMT +1) on Monday 13th August.
Before that point, you must export your robot sprite and email it as an attachement to

If you send it early, I will have time to let you know if it doesn't obey the rules, giving you time to correct it. Send it at the last minute, and if it doesn't meet the rules, it doesn't go through.
So - make sure you read the rules

i was wondering, could we make different costumes for the bot? like weapons. as long as the weapon doesnt go out farther than half the robot ond does not covor the whole robot, or something like that

I could theoretically allow customised costumes but there would have to be so many rules about size, colour placement, etc etc that it would be unmanagable IMO.
So the answer has to be no, the robots need to remain identical so that what is being tested is the Robot's AI.
After all, the only way of detecting things about the other robot is by detecting what colours lie under parts of your robot. So changing the robots costume would give you an unfair advantage since the opposign programmer would have no way of reliably getting info about your bot.

Mines on its way to you via email

24 hours left to email me your submissions. As yet, by default, the one person who has sent me their robot will be the winner...

Simplescratch wins, by default of being the only person to email me a robot.
