... With a section featuring projects that have the largest love-it to view ratio?
The requirements for this section could be:
- 50+ views or 10+ love-its
- project must be less than 10 days old

Great idea! (like we discussed here, cool!) You may find this explanation of reddit's 'best' comment sorting inspiring too.

I like that this idea addresses the views feedback loop. Users would have a simple recourse if they were tricked into viewing something or don't think it should be there: don't love it.
Questions/ideas:
1. Should there be a minimum of say 15 views before listing here, so projects with 1 view and love it doesn't have a perfect ranking?
2. Perhaps decay the score instead of an age limit so older projects can become popular again by users that have not seen it (views are just counted once per user). Also projects that didn't get views in the first 10 days still get a chance?
3. Something may be needed to give projects a chance to be viewed, to feed into this, like a "recent projects" that gives each equal exposure, (the current does not update often enough, so every few projects get more exposure.) IF they are even ready for attention... (imho, instead equalize & simplify self-promotion.)
4. Also, perhaps more should be done to equalize love-it use: Currently projects that remind users to "PRESS LOVE IT!" often get more love-its. (Or the user is already popular.)
There is little consequence or motivation for the user to press love-it-- unlike favorites, which bookmark the projects and implies that you like it more but doesn't do as much to promote. Why not combine them?
(Perhaps while we're at it, combine with tags so there's more motivation for helpful tagging-- that's FaveTags-- so there's also mini front pages for every interest/tag, instead of just one front page that tries to cater to everyone: young/old and people that like games/art/wolfclan/spongebob/math.)
5. So what should this be called?
- Best projects lately.
- Top loved lately. (This would replace top loved too, and work different (better?) )

Maybe 'Popular projects from the community' or for short 'Popular projects'?

The ten day thing would be nice.
But I think it's the top remixed that needs to be replaced.

Ooops. Didn't mean to post right then:
Maybe like vortex said. Largest Love-It To View Ratio. But it could be abbreviated LLITVR

I really like this idea. Some things that could improve it:
No age limit but 20 views needed.
For each day on front page 5 lovits are deducted (not literally it would be calculated like this: Views divided by(loveits-(5 times days on front page))
The only con I can think of is that is then impossible to get perfect rating (is extremely improbable already)
