I'm new here and just wondering what people's first impressions of Scratch were when they started?
I'll admit it has its limitations, like severe limitations, which I learned within the first few minutes of playing with it (cloning sprites, etc.). However, what struck me most as interesting, was the language's easy accesibility and intuitiveness, I was literally able to figure everything out by myself in a hour or so with little help and make something out of it.
But yeah... what were your first impressions?

My first impression was that there were too many blocks and that I would never be able to create anything good.
But that's way gone now.

At first (at the start of the year) I thought what on Earth all the blocks were and how to use them, and that it's pretty complicated. I made a project with an imported background, two imported sprites and the "say" and "when -- key pressed" blocks.

I first started and found it confusing; but the community explained everything after I asked
Anyway, I delved into helping peopled like me on the Forums, and guess what? 8 months later I'm running for Community Moderator and have alot of support.

You mean a lot.
And I actually didn't know about the Scratch website until I Googled "Scratch" half a year after I downloaded it!
P.S Add Grob the Slime to your signature to help him take over the world. (see signature)
