Luckily Mr F didn't return to his office with 20-odd phones. This girl in class was acting weird, and eventually, they looked through her texts and saw that it had been sent 10 minutes earlier. Phew. I was safe, and weak with relief. I can't believe I was actually SHAKING, numb with fear. Plus, girls in particular don't want a male teacher rootling through their bags, for reasons you guys won't know.

My phone went off in an exam once! But the examiner didnt pass any remarks I had forgotten to put it on silent
A girls phone went off, like ringing once and the teacher just said turn it off and dont let it happen again he didnt even give out!

Offline
that happened to me once
my phone rang during a lesson and being the courteous person I am, I reached to turn it off and continue with the class. After I did, I heard someone behind me say "Aw, is that your mommy?" Without missing a beat I replied, "No, yours."
The whole class burst into laughter, including the teacher, and he let me keep my phone.
See I'm awesome in real life just like I am on scratch

If I ever received a text and the teacher noticed, it would go like this:
Teacher = T
Me = M
T: Give me your phone.
M: *Gives*
T: What's the password?
M: Give me the phone, I'll put it in.
T: Okay, here. *Gives Phone*
M: *Turns Off, and turns back on*
T: It needs a password.
M: It's simple, try and guess.
T: *tries 3 times* What's a PUK code?
M: An 8-digit code that unlocks the PIN you just locked.
T: What is it?
M: I don't know, AT&T does.
T: I GIVE UP.

I always turn my phone off.... and my school is very strict about them too, but before I have my soccer practice I usually check it, and I never take the risk of bringing it in class, even if its on... we would get murdered if we take it out before 2:45/3:30

Oh. Well, if and when you get one, leave it OFF or ON SILENT.

Or leave it at home.
That's what I do.
