Hmm... well I was trying out Blender, since I hear it's the best free alternative to stuff like Maya, Lightwave 3D, and 3DS Max, and it seems kinda cool. I mean, a bit CONFUSING and all but I think I might have some potential with it-- once I get out of my comfort zone, that is, and actually try to learn the program
. So far I've just watched two "character modeling part 1" and "part 2" on Youtube, and so I decided to try it on a wolf instead of that sackboy thingy. I'm quite happy with my results

..though it lacks much. Like, tail, legs, arms, ears, head, textures, maybe a bit smoother, etc etc etc...
What do you think: should I continue with 3D or ditch it altogether? xD By the way, if you have any tidbits of info to help me in using Blender, that would help a lot. I'm thinking I should split the model in half and then mirror it, but I'm a little perplexed DX
As well as adding the appendages and all
These are some finished images, on the other hand, of a Scratch project I never finished. I used Bryce and Google Sketchup for these. It took like 2 weeks to make all the stuff and render it (along with other renders I'm not posting)... lol you can tell they weren't anti-aliased ('Cus that just takes too long, ya know?
). So... What do you think I should do?

3D: learn 3D math and help me with collision code.

I tried blender. It's too complicated to learn, and the examples don't work.

Well, Myst-ish
I felt like since at the time (and still now lol) I couldn't really program, so I decided to change it into an exploration tour. --then I ran into programming problems that shouldn't of been happening, so I just stopped right there xD
Here's the link to the old thing: [link]http://scratch.mit.edu/forums/post.php?tid=48282&qid=573270[/link]
You can help program it if you want, and I"ll give you half the credit

I love the SketchUp stuff. Now that's good 3D.

Nice textures
Anyway, Blender is a great alternative, but the interface is completely different from 3D Max and Maya. Blender's great for modeling too

This took about 40 minutes to model and add armature in Blender
It's at kind of a wierd angle

And it was made entirely from a cube using extrusion and multifires

OMG THAT IS LIEK EXTREMELY AWESOME.
It's up to you I guess, but still that's awesome, you could use it in a Scratch game.

That's actually quite nice
. Wait, did you paint the vertexes, or actually paint it, to where if you exported it, the colors would still be there?
I see blender is quite 'capable'.
Of late, I've been thinking of making a 3D game with Nintendo 64/Playstation 1 graphics. I was thinking of using Unity 3D, or maybe DarkBasic; I don't know. Though I have no idea how i'd make all the textures xD

I don't really know what you mean
I don't think I painted the vertex, and I'm not sure if Blender can export
I just assigned mattes to the individual faces and changed their hue
