What should be done if someone comments not-so-nicely, more than once on your projects? Would the not-so-nice person be kicked out of Scratch? There are a few people who are not very nice in their comments.

Nasty comments should be reported to the Scratch Team, using the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of each page. The commenters should not be given publicity in the forums.

If you dont want others to see the not-so-niceness to, then click the "flag as innapropriat" and soon it will be deleted so no one else will become mad.

you can also report them i think, by clicking on the "flag as innapropiate" button on he bottom of the comment

Flagging as inappropriate is a good way of dealing with it. If it's something more serious follow kevin's advice and contact the Scratch Team by clicking on the Contact Us link at the bottom of any page.
I am moving this to the Frequently Asked Questions, so if anyone has the same question just give them the URL of this question

Or you can just delete the comment and pretend nothing happened. jk.
Actually, the way I deal with it is: I flag it and I delete it. That way, the comment will be gone and the Scratch team will be notified.

Sorry, sicne i can't make new subjects in the forums, I need to tell you this...my friend, coolkid001, says he can't chat and comment, because it won't allow him to. He made a project called To Terminator68, to explain the problem, so please check itr out and help him so he can comment again, not thru SCARTCH projects...the reason I'mm telling you this instead of him is, of course, scratch.mit.edu won't let him comment. Thanx ~Terminator68

You can now also choose to ignore any user by adding their user name to your "Ignore List" in your my stuff page - this will change the settings so you never have to see any comments from this user on your projects or galleries.
Enjoy!

Will their comments be visable to other people viewing your projects? Are the ignored people notified that thier comments are being ignored?

Yes, others will still see them.
No, they are not notified.

I dont like not-nice comments, you could ask them why they are being mean, or just report them to a moderator.
Look at the little dudes dance!!!

Ah, but you're forgetting it's in FAQ, so it lives on.
I know it's in FAQ. It's just that we had someone bump it after no post for 2 years.

And what's so bad about that?

Flagging is easiest. I just flagged two comments from a certain user who was unkind when I commented on a project. This is what happened:
User1: Worst project ever.
Me: This is not a nice thing to say. I think it is a good concept
User1: Can't you just keep quiet.
*flags comments*
Just checking, is this the kind of thing you should flag? An example might help unsure users.

Noob: This is ****, it belongs in a garbage heap.
You: Thats not nice.
Noob: Shut ya gob.
Three ways of sorting this out;
1. If it's one of your projects, you know that little x at the bottom? Click it and the message will dissapear.
2. Flag it, simple.
3. Click the Contact Us at the bottom of the page, information there.

What I usually do, if I see a comment on someone else's project, I defend that person. Once that got me into trouble, because I found out the the bully-er had been bullied by the bull-ee. Does that make any sense?
But another thing comes to mind at the mention of that incident--if someone bullies you, don't do it back. Because then you're no better than they are.

Simply put the user to your ignore list, delete the comments,if the comment is highly inappropriate, flag it, or contact The Scratch Team.

It might a better idea to stay out of the conflict and then flag the comment in general:
See andresmh's topic: Replying to disrespectful comment is not OK

Click Flag As Inappropreate

I know the pain. I have made a new project which I am proud of, but some of my projects, including the new one, have been spammed with horrible comments. I logged on to find I had 13 messages because of all those comments! Just press Flag as Inappropraite, then find the "Contact Us" page and tell the mods what happened.
