I got this message:
"Please be respectful when posting in the forums - your response of "is that so. I don't believe you." was less than respectful and actually unfriendly. Please review the Terms of Use."
does a machine do this, or is there some way i can tell a mod i was BEING SARCASTIC.

someone sends it to you, it wasn't a machine. if you want to talk to a mod use the Contact Us button at the bottom of every page

It is a mod sending you that. And he/she would probably think of sarcasm as slightly disrespectful anyway. I have no problem with it, they might though.

I do not think that is really bad enough for a warning but I guess they thought not believing someone and being a little sarcastic was disrespectful.
Probably the sarcasm as disagreeing is fine.

That was done by a mod. But don't worry, everyone gets warnings sometimes - you won't get in trouble for just one.

Be careful, sarcasm does not translate over the web well, so although you know that it was a joke, it could be misinterpreted and cause hurt to the reader.
If necessary just use [sarcasm] tags

I've gotten a warning before, it means nothing but to be a little nicer when you post. Scratch is supposed to be a nice, fun community for everybody. So just try not to insult people or be sarcastic. That's all.
