Me too - I'm sure we'll all miss you! And Illusionist, of course.

Along with the 14-year rule, you also have to have parental permission to become a moderator.

I moved this over to this topic because the other one is for nominations only.
The confirmation process isn't as religious as it sounds - it's just so that the Scratch Team can verify that you are, in fact, over fourteen years old.

With illusinist and Dazzachi going, I hope the two seats are used up wisely.
I hope to win a seat; but if I don't, whoever gets promoted well done!

Don't worry, you don't have to know any of the candidates to vote . Just read their speeches, and use your best judgement to decide would would be able to help the most in the Scratch community! You can always ask others for opinions too, of course.

If you're greatful for the work Dazachi & illusionist have done than why did you create the stupid 14-year limit?
I think it should be an 11-year limit. I know 11 year old's that are more mature than a lot of 16-year-old.

It's not about maturity. It's about the Scratch Team not being comfortable exposing 11-12-13-year-olds to the kind of stuff mods see quite a bit. It's not about maturity, it's about experience and reasoning.

and we wouldn't want smaller kids looking at really inappropriate pictures, or very harsh words that they may not understand and start using. i know i wouldn't want to do that, and i'm only 12!

I can't wait for tomorrow, when you release the names of the candidates. Good luck everyone!

Yeah, good luck in the elections! I'm sure our new moderator will be a good choice; there are so many great competitors!

I'm also looking forward to tomorrow, but there's only 10 of us that have nominated ourselves, right?
Either way, I'm sure our two new moderators will do a great job.
Since the over 14 rule was introduced... (Pulls random numbers out the air )
About 75-80% of people were dropped.

If there's 10 of you that are still in, I think there were 40 before the rule, so 75% sounds accurate.

The Scratch team has already stated that they didn't create this rule on the basis of maturity
In my experience, most younger kids act more mature on the internet than older ones because they want to mask their actual immaturity. Older people, on the other hand, like to goof off on the internet. I'm not saying that you're immature yourself.

I'm not voting for anyone who says something like,
"Speech is in my signature, I'm running"
or
"I made a speech elsewhere, I nominate myself"

I'm sorry? I don't understand - what do you mean? I don't think that lowers my opinion of anybody.

I see what you did there.
On topic: Good luck to everyone running! I just hope that anyone who wants to run gets the chance to - I would hate to see someone miss out because they missed nominations.
