I actually don't think there is a block for that, sorry. 
But, I know for sure that the scratch team is working on incorporating show/hide list blocks into scratch 2.0, which will be coming out soon.

They have that for variables...not for lists. sorry

Make a sprite that's hidden at the beginning, and looks exactly like the background your switching two.
Put the list on that, and when you switch backgrounds, show the sprite.
