Okay, this is awesome. But why doesn't it say that it's accepted on the Suggestions forum (the off-Scratch one)? Answer me that.

For Scratch 2.0, the Scratch team is considering adding procedures, which would likely be "collapsible." In addition, we will experiment with collapsible "when" blocks.

Wow this is a great idea, I totally support it...
and to the person im quoting, maybe you should be able to label the scripts so you can simply see which ones they are.

Do I really have to answer this over and over? We already fixed that! When you hover over the scripts, it show a snippet of the beginning of them.

Thats not what i meant.  If you have to hover over to see which one it is, it could take a while to find the one your looking for. There should be like titles, above the top block, which are always shown.

If that's too troublesome, don't collapse them all at once without labelling them with a comment first  smile

I don't think it'll really be a problem. I mean, you really don't need multiple scripts with the same hat block on the same sprite, so I don't think it'll get very confusing.

Well, you can. Music projects (complex ones like Jens' Shanty) can often have the same hat blocks. Some of my animations, because I'm kinda bad with timing (abhorrent, actually), will have several unneeded broadcast blocks because I'm too lazy to exert my brain past telling my heart to pump blood to add timing. Of course, I didn't fully read your post, and missed the part about the same Sprite having the same hat blocks. Since I’m so lazy, I don’t feel like deleting my previously written drivel. Thus, all previous words I have written are total nonsense and should be printed out and used for toilet paper. My response to what I now interpret your post as would be something like this: “I agree! You are a smart person.” Or maybe: “Yes, that wouldn’t really prove to be a problem. I guess it could, but that would be uncommon.” But it’s not. Never mind this post.

wink  Nice post!

But there can be a simple matter of hovering over the script to display a snippet of the contents that could be a solution, or you can attach comments to the script, or whatever you feel like doing to label it.  smile

Re: Collapsable Scripts

This idea just hit me out of the blue (as do all my mediocre ideas). Maybe if there's 2+ scripts on a single Sprite that have the same blocks and code until about ten blocks down, in the snippet from mousing over, it would show the whole script until it got to a block unused in that spot in another script shared by the same Sprite. Confusing? I don't get it very well, either. Look at this picture.
http://i51.tinypic.com/2dtcb9h.gif
The two scripts share the exact same blocks and code until a certain point. The snippet would show the whole script up until it got to a different block (a block not in the same spot in a script). There are some flaws, like a snippet getting Russia-esque in size, due to too many script similarities. The solution is a block cap. At about twenty or so, it would cut it off. If there's a script with no similarities at all, it shows about three or four blocks down in the snippet. At this point, I’m ramblin’. Feel free to build on this, because I’m out of ideas.

Idea: Collapsable If else block! They probably already had this in mind, but look!

I  support! Just one minor thing (sorry if it's been mentioned) but when you hover the mouse over the collapsed script, if that script was GIANT then it would need a GIANT thing that showed the script.

It's a snippet. It'd only show five or six blocks.
