Constelation Program

Embraces the epicnis that is NASA

This is a discussion on NASA's new program Ares. Taking us back to the moon and to Mars

Ares 1

Info:

This will take our astronaghts into orbit, with the orion on board
It uses a five sediment solid rocket booster.

Caryies cargo, wich cargo in orbit will be attached to the Orion
It can carry 414,000 pounds
Uses 2 solid rocket boosters.

It's brilliant.

The Space Shuttle was unreliable, not safe, and very wasteful.

What we have here isn't the best, but it's still pretty nice.

I agree, the only good thing was it was reusable, and could fly back down like a plane, beswides that, you had i bielive a 1 in 83 chance of a system nowfuncion, and yes, this should be alot safer, because of the mission abourt system

Probably. I think that before thinking of Going to Mars, NASA should concentrate more on the Earth and the Moon. They are being too far-fetched (in simple terms). There has hardly been any rocket to the moon by NASA since the 1960s and there are too many satellites around here on Earth. I guess it will be best to start focusing on technologically advanced space- stations and missions to the moon.

YES, since they replace the old space shuttles which were designed to Annihilate the astronauts. Come on, who could have risked the astronauts' life by using such poor mechanism for keeping the space shuttle safe during re-entry ??? I just hope that there is a better mechanism this time.  smile
