We installed Scratch on a bank of windows machine. Then I find out that on a few of them, there are missing a few of the standard "look" blocks. Before trying a re-install, does anyone know why this would happen? I do not think one can delete blocks from the block selection area, is that correct?
Thanks,

Blocks can't be removed - well, they can, but only by changing Scratch's source code (which is cheating and doesn't count).
Could you list all the Looks blocks you have? Or check the Scratch Wiki article on Looks blocks and tell us which of those you're missing?

Are you sure that you're not in the stage area?

This could be the issue. A number of the "Looks" blocks aren't present in the Stage area because certain things can't happen on the stage.

Yes - to get the other Looks blocks, go to a sprite.

rocket101 was right. That was the problem ! I actually figured it out today when we were doing that at home and it "happened on our own computer". Since I knew the installation was good, I started looking at it carefully.
The original problem was when I was leading a scratch club at a school -- there were too much going on to troubleshoot at that time.
Thanks!
