The section Inspiration and more seems to lack inspiration. Sure you can get it from other people's project ideas or maybe things they request but it's not going to help anyone in the real world. Copyright may not affect us here, but it will affect everyone in the future.
So I propose that we get rid of the Miscellaneous Forum and create the Inspiration Forum. I heard someone on here say that we should force people to explain what's inspiring about their miscellaneous topic (yes I lurk around the site, but that's only because I can't post). This is a brilliant idea, and the basis of what the Inspiration Forum will be about. I mean do we really need a miscellaneous? The admins have done such a great job sorting things out already that there's nothing that doesn't fit anywhere. What miscellaneous is used for is mainly supposed to be Inspiration, so that's why I'm suggest the Inspiration Forum be created. But without all of the spam. I mean you can't really be inspired from 'twitter' posts or polls. If it's someone doing research for a project, sure that's okay then. If not, heck no we shouldn't allow this top happen.
I'm sure you can find inspiration in anything though, so please don't try to get technical and say 'But you can find inspiration in twitter posts'. This does not matter to the point. Sure anything can provide accidental inspiration but what we want is on purpose inspiration. So please consider remaking the Miscellaneous into the Inspiration Forum. Or at least enforce the rules of it. The details about the forum in the index are totally contradicted by the actual content of the forum.

Come on, that was what, under 2000 words? Why don't you actually take time to read a suggestion that isn't actually that long.

Believe it or not, we actually used to have a forum called "Inspiration and More". This was split up into several subforms (including Miscellaneous, which is currently being kept since it is a way for the community to talk and bond).
I'm rather slightly confused here, though. One of the ideas behind the original "Inspiration and More" forum, before it was subdivided, was that it was a place to get ideas, feedback, and/or help for projects (hence "Project Ideas", "Collaborations" and "Requests", and the other sections). Is this what you are thinking of when you refer to "purpose inspiration"?

I don't think you should get rid of the Misc forum. It's probably one of the most popular forums on Scratch ad said by Cheddargirl, it lets people talk freely.

You cannot post in it because you have the title, 'new scratcher'. When you are active on the website long enough, you will have your title changed to, 'scratcher', at which point you can do other things you can't do before, including editing posts, posting in miscellaneous, and other things.
By the way, if you're wondering, we aren't supposed to say how long it is, and also, I really don't know.
Also, I really do not support this idea, I really like the miscellaneous forum, because yes, the posts there do not really belong in any other forum, and yes, I have been inspired by it.

Isn't the inspiration stuff in Project Ideas?

But that's like plagiarism (as I've said in a topic like this way back)
Producing something similar to someone else's idea while taking from their post is not really.. well.. you know.

well thats really disconcerting
why are new scratchers not allowed to post in there
if newcomers wanted to spam they could so it anywhere else man

I get your point and overall I agree with what your saying, but for some reason I don't feel right just getting rid of the whole misc forum. Here's what I recommend: Move the Misc to a separate address (or site, whatever you want to call it), the same way we did with the TBG forum.

Yes, move the misc to a subdomain. I support militarydudes' suggestion.

The closing off of Miscellaneous here doesn't have to do with spam. Over the years, Miscellaneous has become a place where Scratchers can hang out and just talk about other topics that may or not be related to Scratch - but the emphasis of the forums, firstmost, is about Scratch. We'd rather have New Scratchers be more comfortable with integrating themselves with Scratch and helping others in the Scratch community first without throwing themselves in the Miscellaneous fray and forgetting what Scratch is all about.
