I can already hear the gallery RPGer rage
I never thought of that...
Good: More activity on the TBG
Bad: Hard to RP

so few people spam comments that this wouldnt be reasonable. if they do spam, report them.

The way the comment system works right now is that if you keep entering messages with the same, or too similar text in it, it won't submit. That works fine, except that I saw one user spamming comments by inserting random letters (ei. Eueueueeu- theerrere- fafdfafasdfsa -as fafdfadfadfad- afadfvveee) like every 2 seconds, and spammed about 400 comments that way.
To fix that, there should be another limit. A good idea would be if the user enters more than three or four comments within 60 seconds, he/she would have to wait another 20 seconds to enter more comments. What do you guys think? Any suggestions?

what if there is only a limit for posting links? you know, if it detects that you put a link, then you have to wait 60 seconds before putting another link? that way, people could still RP, but they can't spam!
but i suppose people could get around that by putting spaces in between certain parts of the link, but i suppose it would be more of a drag for someone to click the link, thus less likely the spammer would get anything from spamming on scratch.

Thanks for the support everyone I posted it in Scratch suggestions.

What do you think the minimum reasonable time limit would be for someone who was just getting started RPGing?
I'm thinking maybe this would work like it does on the forums. If you are a long time Scratcher, you have no time limit. But new Scratchers would have like... maybe a 1 minute wait between posts?

You raise a good point. I've been spammed many, many times before and I know the feeling. But a time limit could easily get annoying.
Hmm... would it be acceptable to flag a spam comment as inappropriate?

Maybe there should be a separate button for just "flag as spam" so that it can be easily separated from the inappropriate stuff?

maybe a bit more than 1 minute? I mean, new scratchers are most likely still learning about scratch, and shouldn't be commenting on projects WAY too much, anyway, and most people can wait just a minute to post some more spam, so maybe a minute and a half? i don't know, just as long as it doesn't effect us scratchers. ^^;
and maybe if a scratcher gets flagged too many times for spamming, then you guys somehow make the rule apply to them too?
and don't forget about my link detector idea!

Yea, that sounds good. Because people who have been RPGing for a while will probably be RP with more than one character or replying to more than one RPGer really quickly. New RPGers will probably be watching other people RPG just to see how it works, examine the other people RPGing, etc. So they most likely won't be commenting that quickly.
No limit for long time Scratchers, and one minute for new Scratchers.

what about you can only post the link of your project if it has two tags the same as the project your posting to. that way you could show someone that your project is similar but not be able to post a completely random project just to get people to go to it. then there should also be that four tags should be the same for front-page projects. to prevent people from just adding the tags to the project you would have to wait fifty seconds in between tagging. that would be two hundred seconds for a front-page or just one hundred for any other project waiting to create both tags.
