Re: Good Webhosting???

Then just google it, why are you asking us?
I think Godaddy hosts for 5$ a month, but you can ask fg123 about the one he got for 12 dollars for one year

Re: Good Webhosting???

Pick up a cheap working computer (Not to old. A dual core with about 2Gb of RAM should do). Setup your domain name pointers to your IP address. If you have a dynamic IP adress there are some programs which can update the pointers. Set up the computer to have a static local IP 192.168.1 Blah Blah. Edit the router settings to redirect incoming traffic to the computer. Download a server program like XAMPP install and your set.

Re: Good Webhosting???

I use Weebly. No adds, FREE, really good editor.

Or you can use Weebly pro (around $3.00 a month) and get a LOT more features.

or webs, depends on what style you want.

webs is 40$ a year from my memory, which is much much cheaper than weebly, almost half the price

you must have done your math wrong. 12x$3.00=$36.00. Webs costs $4 more.

I may use iPage. It's got very good reviews, and it's only $45/year with all these extra features.

Re: Good Webhosting???

I still say buy a cheap computer and use that. Unless your site gets lots of traffic a cheap computer is all you need. Plus you are able to have as many subdomains as you like because you can customise everything.

Re: Good Webhosting???

I use a regular Webs free account, but you can get free hosting at webs with loads of features, IF you have already built your site offline. The page for that has a link that is the third one under the "Discover what you can do with Webs" caption on their homepage.

I use Freehostia. They have brought out a new CP. It has a free PLAN, but you can buy the 150% better plan for a small price in all currency's.

Re: Good Webhosting???

For full, free, adless, reliable etc.. webhosting with FTP access, PHP, MySQL etc I can recomend http://www.000webhost.com/ and http://zymic.com/

I use zymic myself. If you go to dot.tk you can register your own domain name and configure it to use zymics DNS. (when making a domain name, click 'Use DNS' then 'Use my Own DNS services' and enter the two ips zymic gives you.)

Re: Good Webhosting???

I use DreamHost, and it serves me well; of course, if you go the way of DreamHost, you should be prepared to use some FTP client like FileZilla and know some HTML (or have access to a good HTML editor).

Yawn.

this. If you have windows, just use IIS. The only true reliable web host is your own computer. okay, maybe it would be even safer with an emergency generator a reliable go-anywhere Wifi (the USB ones from like, verizon, AT&T, etc.), but you know what I mean.  wink

Also: read the topic post. They don't want a free web host. (I personally don't know why they don't trust them, but they're the one in charge)

Re: Good Webhosting???

I use webs. There are upgrades to do on your site so there are no ads, and you can upgrade so it isn't free.
