Be patient. It is the school/work week, you know (at least it is now, it was still the weekend (where I live) when you posted
), and I've got lots to do. But I've got a 4-day weekend coming up, so I'll have lots of time then
Anyway, I ported all my modifications over to the newest release; everything's mostly done except for this one feature of the text editor I'm trying to get to work.

Nice!
Sorry, I haven't been working on the bash version very much. I'll finish it over the weekend.

I must confess I've been a bit lazy this weekend and haven't gotten much work done on SIMPL-DOS or this one feature, so I'll comment out the unfinished feature, clean up the batch file, and release a new version. Oh, and I'll make a new EXE system as well.
And sanddude, we just use Notepad to write DOS batch script.

You don't have to comment out the feature. Just comment out the "if %choice%==blah" line for the feature. To tell the truth, I haven't done much on SIMPL-DOS either, but I had to visit grandparents who live 3 hours away.

how did you guys learn it? I'll help so send me the files

How will I let you know?

OK. Just upload the .bat file so I can make it into an EXE.

I already updated the .bat link. Here's the link: [url=]http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?j4c1dmdznegas74[url]I know I took a long time. I got distracted.

I had to fix 1 problem in the batch file, so I just uploaded it to my site again along with the new EXE. And you know what that 1 problem was? An ampersand (&)!
Don't use ampersands in DOS because they introduce a new command (e.g."echo hello & echo there" would print "hello¶there" (on 2 separate lines)).

yes, it is a batch file, and that is VERY ironic, almost creepy.
If you still have it, does your failed DOS project work with spaces? The word processor in SIMPL-DOS crashes when you use spaces.![]()
No, it didn't.
I quit it after the first if statement didn't work.
But if you want to create a truly powerful computer program, try Perl. It's better than C.K.
I know Perl is powerful, but I have also heard it is VERY HARD to learn. I have just gotten good at BASIC, so Perl is probably a long way away for me. I will probably go C route, starting with, old, reliable, C.
(BTW, did you know Windows was made in C# and C++?)
NO! Stick with batch.
