My Space Wars project is super advanced, anyone try making something more complex, you probably won't succeed  big_smile

Re: Your Most advanced project.

My most advanced project (mind you, my first under this name) is Scratch Text Display. It's meant to be a part of the projects, not a stand alone, and is still in the works. But yeah, it is rather complex (if you want to count all the costumes). :cool

Simple but practical.  Ah whatever, you're right.  Kingdom then.

It's 4 scripts from being finished. I just don't know what those scripts are.

Uhh I'm not sure I should be the one to judge because what I'd say might seem like bias. Anyways, the game is really slow, nothing works, and the graphics aren't really appealing. It's just my opinion so don't take it to heart (well the not working and being slow aren't my opinion but you know what I mean).

Being slow isn't my problem as it can't be helped, everything works if you used it right, and the graphics quip is indeed you're opinion.
As for you're game, everything was fine, except the enemies moved to where you were going to go instead of where you where, so you can't outsmart them, the graphics were more basic than mine (in my opinion, of course), and the movement marker often broke, forcing me to restart the game.  Of course, I'm only being this harsh as you were derogatory towards my project.

If they moved to where you were, they would never be able to catch you (I tried changing it)

Yet you can't avoid them if they move to where you will be.  What a conundrum.

The enemies are a work in progress they will have a 50-50 chance of going either towards the ship or where it will be going. Otherwise it's impossible to be caught ever. The marker broke? What do you mean? Honestly, the sprites took me like 10 minutes to make besides the diagonals for the gray and red ships.

Re: Your Most advanced project.

I think you should make a semi 3d game, and at the end where there's a boss, it fades to the epic battle!

Re: Your Most advanced project.

Also about the lag: It probably could be helped if your scripts weren't so long. I couldn't tell if there were sound effects or music either, but this program can't use either of those without being dead slow so that might be another reason. Also you could use a better scrolling engine, this one is weird.

If you look at the scripts you will notice all parts of it are necessary and therefor must be long, there are no sounds, and I have compressed it as much as it goes.  Therefor the lag is unavoidable.
Also, I don't know what you mean by a "better" scrolling engine, or that the one I use is weird.

Also, what I meant by the marker breaking is that the highlighted square often becomes unaligned with the grid, causing your character to became misaligned as well.

I thought I fixed that... Must be an older version I uploaded. Are you deliberately trying to get it unalligned? Because waving it around wildly might cause it, I don't know what type of system you're using it could be different from mine (PC, Windows XP)

On the long scripts: They are necessary I guess, but splitting them up would reduce the lag. It probably can't be easily done though unless you restart from scratch. The scrolling engine.. I don't really know how to explain it, but it shifts a lot.

Re: Your Most advanced project.

Probably would be my Notepad, that can save and load 5 projects. I haven't uploaded it yet, but when I get it done, I'll show you.
But if I plan to make a Touhou project, that will definitely be more complex than the Notepad. I had came up with two methods, there's the bullet-stamper, and the independent bullets. Bullet-stamper just goes to the position the bullet should go, then stamps it. Simple, but still kinda tricky. Then, there's the REALLY hard method, which was the independent bullet. Each bullet is it's own sprite, and receives TONS of brodcasts from the control sprite (most likely the enemy) and moves according to them. Making multiple patterns would be a PAIN, with commands from iciclefall1, to pentagram421!

I would have to say my Pathing AI is my most advanced project. It's just about the only project I've made that I really had to think about how I would program something.
