I miss the old days when the only attacks on the forums were by overzealous SEO spammers instead of overzealous trolls. D:

Re: dem old days.

Projects like this. (That was, like, the greatest thing ever back in 2007.)

Also, it was nice when all the programming sites were talking about scratch, and a bunch of really experienced programmers were on. Too bad so many of them are gone now.

I'm taking a break from Scratch until 2.0 comes out. Any messages sent between then and now probably won't be read - sorry.

Is that a real comment from an RPG? My goodness, it took me a while to figure out the meaning of the last sentence.

Re: dem old days.

I do miss the old days. Don't tell me I was not here in 07-08, I had an account then (aang3), but lost intrest, and now I have regained my intrest for programming and gotten much better. But I miss the REALLY good projects on the front page and some of the old users (RHY3....some other stuff  smile  for example) but I really like the new features brought by scratch 1.4.

This as well. (I loved that archery project)

Re: dem old days.

The old days were always the best. I'm an 08er.

2008 was the peaceful year. 2009 got a little crazy. 2010 was the year of the Art vs. Programming War.

I wonder what it was like back in 07.

That means you're an '09er. It solely depends on the year that you joined, not the year that you discovered Scrotch

Yep.  Of course, that's only for Scrotch.  On Scratch, it's your opinion on whether it's when you found the site or joined it.  tongue

I didn't fix that on purpose, but no, even on Scratch it is still when you joined the site that you belong to a group.

No, but I've seen sentences as bad o_o"

I also miss quality. No, I don't mean "More games, more art, less stories, more stimulations...." No. I meant the quality of everything.
Games are becoming unoriginal and generic.
Animations have sloppy movement, framework, and shading(if any).
Art looks like it took 2 seconds to doodle.
Stimulations are just some wierd random lines thing.
Stories are all about some short haired anthro girl who's left alone in a big city.

Of course, there are exceptions. But I suppose maybe the road to victory is a bit rough...

Re: dem old days.

From what I can remember, 08 was a nice time here.
There were always awesome, deserving, projects on the front page, and everyone seemed alot closer. I wasn't really on the forums back then, so I don't have much to say about em.
I, personally, miss seeing the old regulars on the front page, from the last two years- RHY, bosox, nickiperson2, and alot others- They used to always be on the front page, and it seems weird now that they are never there.

Those things are bound to happen after a  while though. There are still very high quality projects out there.

Re: dem old days.

I'm a '07er. But I quit and rejoined this year... back in 2007, an animation of a cat moving around was normal. So this is actually fantastic work compared to 2007. But then people got more skilled in 2008, 2009 trolls and spammers attacked, and now 2010 we're dropping dangerously close to the cat animation again. So let's buck up, and go back to the good ol' '08s!

Yeah, in 07 everything was more simple apparently. But at least the cat animations have been good (not 07, wasn't there).
