Do I agree with this? Nope. I'm just posting the reasons why because I saw somebody ask for one.
1. If there are things like Pornography on Scratch, people below 14 may not be able to handle it.
2. Users need to be mature ( Even though I could list several people who I feel are mature enough)
3. Younger Scratchers may not understand the commitment required for this job.
4. They will have to spend lots of time on Scratch, which is a concept that younger Scratchers may not understand.
5. The scratch team is scared that they will see a lot of the spam they saw over the summer, and they don't feel a younger person would know how to handle it.
6. If the Scratch team lowers it to twelve, there will also be more innapropriate Scratchers than there are at fourteen.
7. Sometimes, spammers and others will attack mods directly, and the scratch team feels that younger scratchers will not be able to handle that.
In short, the Scratch team just does not feel that younger people will understand the job or what to do in many situations.
Do NOT yell at me for these. I did not make any of these up- most of these are stated from the Scratch team or other Scratchers that think logically.
I hope this will clear up some things.

I saw that Pass it on at Camp hope. That's the one where she hurt herself but couldn't get help from her team, or she'd be out, and then the other team carried her.
If only more people were like that.

I know. I wish more people could see it so there would be less controversy. I don't like the fourteen rule, but it's annoying hearing people argue about a rule that won't change.

I would post a link in the original topic, but that would be spam.

While many of these are true, I don't think this should be regarded as a very official or perfectly reliable topic, considering it was written from a rather biased standpoint.

I respectfully disagree with every single one of your reasons, read my post why in Announcements (page 10 of the moderator election thread).

I'm just saying I don't agree with the rule. I did not make any of these statements.

And by the way, I think you should delete this thread, they don't like these kinds of threads in misc, they only make people angry.

I think I'm going to let it on for a little bit, but if it gets out of hand I'll get rid of it.
