Now, this is a really great idea! I think that (integrated into the Scratch program) should be a Scratch Browser. It would be a lot like the iTunes store, an easy browser that reads off a database for downloading Scratch projects straight to Scratch so they don't have to be on your computer, and so you could easily comment on projects right from Scratch.
Here's a mockup I made: (more to come)

Tell me what you think of the idea!

Excellent! Of course, the next version of Scratch will be inside the browser, but this would still be nice for the standalone app.
It could be on the online one too! It's basically just a quick way to try out projects. Like I said, it's like the iTunes store.

Looks cool, however will probably be very dificult to do.

Since Scratch 2.0 will mainly be on the internet, they might put this in...

Hey, why not make a suggestions page?

Yes, it would be very nice to have the scratch editor and site tightly integrated... in a way that would also work for offline users.
This would be especially useful if we could find resources (sprites, sounds, scripts...) shared by others as well as projects. And if we could Filter by type, users, and tags to find what you're looking for.
Here's a browser interface I designed, that could work here as well, (minus the user page stuff at top, and not just limited to stuff the current user made or likes.)
You can click cat, to see all projects and resources with cats:
then Cats AND dogs:
You could also click resources and pick just sprites, or sounds...
Wrote more on this here. I hope to complete this soon. It's a huge project. )
So yes, this is a cool idea, and would be cooler with a way to browse and find specific types of projects and resources...
for example, a user can find a UFO sound effect, and cow sprite made by someone else, and add directly to their project...

Something like this would definitely be cool! After all, this is how stencyl works partly...

zomg love it. I support. Put it on the suggest site! Maybe someone could code it. (it would be easy if the scratch site has XML tags.) Maybe it could even open other websites and there could be a block
[open ['google.com'] in scratch browser]

No, the Scratch browser wouldn't run HTML code, it just reads from a database on the Scratch server.
And I can't put it on the suggestions site because I don't have any votes left.
