It looks like the first one is more theory science while the second one is all proven and working tech.

I've never read either of those, but they both looking pretty intresting. And I think almost any science magazine will probably be good.

I get Popular Science and always read it pretty much cover to cover.  It's a very optimistic magazine where there is always a technological solution to any problem.  I sometimes learn about interesting gadgets from it as well.
