Re: Unofficial Community Moderator Election Discussion

Firstly, I'd like to thank the Scratch Team for choosing me to be a candidate, and even if I'm not chosen to be a moderator on the 20th, I'll still continue to be active and help where possible. Also, now that I am a candidate I thought it would be easier to slightly edit my existing speech instead of creating a new topic.  smile

--

Ok, so I'm 06dknibbs and I joined Scratch around 2+ years ago (I think, I don't actually remember when anymore...). In that time I've made a few projects, but eventually decided to stop for now. Since then I've spent a lot more of my time on Scratch using the forums where I usually post in New Scratch Members, All About Scratch and Troubleshooting although I read a lot of other topics elsewhere.

Lists of reasons also seem to be quite common, so.

- I consider myself to be active most of the time. Although the past 2 weeks I've been quite busy, I'll be spending more time on the forums again now.

- I try to help around the forums when possible, and if I was a moderator, I'd be able to help even more.

- I've had a similar experience as a moderator in the past, although it was just on a small board which was quite active and only really consisted of deleting posts. No moving etc:

- I'm usually quite good at handing responsibilities, and I think I could do a good job as a mod If I had the chance.

- I'm 15 and normally quite mature and try to be when it's needed.

- I know a lot about Scratch which is probably quite useful.

- I also try to be literate so that my posts are understandable, as well as read posts properly so I understand what is being said before posting.

Finally, as a moderator I wouldn't really do anything different than what the current mods do. I'd delete/edit posts, move threads in the wrong place, read reports and try do deal with the quickly and generally help where/when needed. I usually spend a lot of time on the internet, just not on Scratch. But I'd be willing to put a lot more time into helping around the forums  smile .

Thanks.  tongue

A few of the people I was going to vote for, including you, have been removed from the elections by the 14 years old limit  hmm . Although there's still some good people running and I'm looking forward to the elections even If I don't make it  smile .

Am I one of the good people...?  tongue

The only people I know who are still eligible are me, Telemachus and Steppenwulf.
