when i first got scratch, it never showed it's full screen, everything is too big, i can only see as far as where the second sprite goes at the bottom, and about half of the view screen. i tried restoring it down but it doesnt stretch far when u try to use the wee pull arrows at the bottom and side. i know this sounds complicated but if anyone knows what i'm talking about pls tell me, its really annoying that i have to limit my projects to one side.

I had that same problem. I fixed it by getting a bigger monitor, but that probably doesn't help you

It sounds like you have your screen resolution set too low. If you have a PC, try right-clicking on and empty spot on the desktop and look for "Personalize - Display Settings" or maybe just "Display Settings", something like that. Then set it to a larger number (higher resolution). That should fix it.
