2010-A series of children going mad has been reported. There's only one similarity-they were all playing a hacked version of Pokemon Red. The police step in, and interrogate the game's developer. He denies anything to do with the hacked version, but knows a man, Tom Williams, who's a famous Pokemon Game hacker. After looking into Tom Williams, the police find that he doesn't know anything. This is further proved by a lie detector. So, with no more leads, the police open up a gameboy collected as evidence and start up the hacked version. They find that all of the children have played for exactly 999 hours, and have 20 badges. However, a detective, whos own children plays the unhacked version, knows from them that there're only 8 badges. After a quick new game to ensure that the hacked game has also 20 badges, the police are left there confused. How can this be possible? After asking Tom about the phenomenon, Tom replies that it's a glitch he found- if you sneak around the guy blocking the way to wild grass and get defeated before getting a pokemon, you will find that you have 20 badges. Reluctant to test this in case the police go insane too, they confiscate all known cartridges and lock them in a safe. But curiousity gets the better of one of them, and he plays the game. After several attempts, he sneaks past the guy, and gets defeated by a pokemon. As his trainer goes down, instead of the words "Gold whites out", he gets the words,"Gold summons ???!" The ??? pokemon had no name, only a shape. The policeman found that if he ran from the battle, he would be teleported to Professor Oak to get a pokemon. However, if he fought, he found that ??? had only one move-Insanity Melody. Catiously, he selects it, and ??? makes a sound that triggers unexplained emotions in him. They overwhelm him to the extent that he goes mad. He was later found screaming on the floor, with ??? on the screen and the words,"Foe has went insane!" Apparently, the gameboy had crashed and there was no way to restart it, not even by turning it on and off. Really scared now, the police burned everything. However, some copies of Pokemon Red hacked version have survived, and who knows? You might find it. But how do you identify them? From 2 things. One:The words Gamefreak is spelled Gamefreek. Two:It doesn't say Pokemon Red on the title screen. It says Pokemon Bloodred.

One problem. You can only get 8 badges in Pokemon Red. Nice story though.
Nice and scary, that is!

Cool, but leave out any factors that distinguish it from the real game (the Gamefreek logo and such) so that people get afraid they may own or play a hacked copy. >:D

@Sunrise-Moon:Yes, I did. I was inspired by Pokemon Creepyblack and a story about the floating dumplings made of flesh.
@Aidan:Edited. Thanks for the feedback
@Kileymeister:That's the whole point of the story. It's to make you paranoid.

Nice story, It kind of reminds me of this story I posted.
Ah yes, you'll be happy to know that it was partly inspired by that. And Creepyblack had a part. Along with the hacked version of Silver...
@Luigitailsdoll45:Did you just insult me? Or did you just compliment me? YIP YIP YIP *head explodes*

I was thinking of getting the ROM of PKMN BloodRed, but now I'll reconsider that. O_O I have LostSilver, though.

Exactly, so if it didn't say Gamefreek and Bloodred, it would be indistinguishable from the average game, making every copy a possible hacked version. >:D

I have another story, where there are no distinguishable features in the hacked version. My friend, who plays Pokemon Red, got creeped out.
