In case you people cannot understand *glares at S65* I don't care about relationships right now, and I not annoyed at the school itself, it is a very nice school, it is just how the place is socially structured. Actually, forget it, how most people my age think "different" is bad.

Not to be bossy, but try not to make this a flame! I was just saying that your comment wasn't super constructive, that's all.

And, well... S65, not all people can take a joke like that.

Re: I Need SERIOUS ADVICE!

Apparently, in fifth grade everyone thought I was gay and was dating a girl who was actually a boy without me knowing it. I didn't learn the rumor until his year, and wanted to punch the girl who said it in the face.

I'm the only level-headed boy in the 6th grade that doesn't obsess over relationships at a  young age.

I know the feeling  roll

Erm, my thoughts are that until you're able to drive each other (Which means driving yourself, not having your mom take you o_O) to dates, dating is pointless. And I'm constantly explaining that to my friends, but they don't get it, apparently. I, personally, can make friends fairly easily, so while they're going around chasing some dude they "like", yet hardly know at all, I'm actually becoming friends with the kid. That often ends in some awkward accusations and conversations, though.. o_O

At my school, its mainly girls who obsess over relationships. In sixth grade, at least, but for the higher grades I've noticed that the obsession is fairly equal.

Re: I Need SERIOUS ADVICE!

Okay, am I the first girl to post in this?
At 12 girls are ready for boys and vice versa, so my advice is to be friends with her. Then when you tell her you like her it won't be as embarrassing as it would if you talked to someone you didn't even know. And if she doesn't really......you know....you'll still be friends.
You know what?
I'm having the same problem!
I'm in 5th grade and I have no idea how to talk to my crush. I'm not a shy person, but when I see him I'm shy!
But this is your problem and not mine.
Okay, girls are girls.
That's something you MUST know.
Girls (well, at least me) don't care if you wear hats or have nice eyes or whatever. They just want you to be nice and smart and possibly humorous. If you have those qualities, you're perfect. We, the female gender, are impossibly crazy at that age. I mean, people DATE in my grade!!! We're all fluttery inside, and our brains are like fried when we see our crush walk by. (All this, is at least me!) So just take it slow. DO NOT DO THE DIRECT APPROACH. Who knows? She might be uncomfortable with you just coming up to her and saying, "I like you". (It would creep me out a little.)
I know this post is getting really long and I'm sorry!
Remember, if you're going to tell her, you have to know that having her know isn't that bad. I mean, I would be happy if a boy liked me! You would probably too, right? Yeah. So tell the losers that tease you to stop it and leave you alone. Whatever happens, keep up your self esteem. (I need to work on that though.) Girls like it when you're happy !

Re: I Need SERIOUS ADVICE!

Well, take it from me, I am in grade 8. I am 13, not much of an age difference than you, and I really don't like girls. Well, I do, I like most of the girls in my class, they are good friends, but not LIKE like them. I don't really want to date right now. I'm waiting until I ish 15.

Basically, my advice: Don't try to hard for a relationship at 12. I've heard it always turns out bad.

Here's advice to guys
As long as you shower and brush your teeth, girls will find you attractive. They don't like the manly smell for some strange reason

And, wear a big hat. We like hats.

Interesting.
When I sit with boys at lunch (Because the sixth graders at my school naturally split the lunch tables into boy/girl sides, but I sit on both sides occasionally), they usually talk about sports, the Game, lunch, teachers, classes, sometimes girls/dances, and music.
However, when I sit with the girls, ALL they talk about is boys. (And the game)

Re: I Need SERIOUS ADVICE!

That reminds me -- at my school, both genders are into dating already.

There's this one girl that pokes me all the time and talks to me and shows me the weirdest things.

I hope she doesn't like me, I'd feel sorry for her and all the other girls who like other guys. Getting sucked up in their own little pathetic love lives. If your any gender and is dating another guy, seriously? My personal advice is to suck it up and stop thinking about it, and seriously, don't date at 11 or 12.

But if it's a friendship thing, then I don't feel sorry for her.

Not dating. Just that if they both like each other. Its basically like friendship. And though I agree, it is very young, love can come at a very young age. I've liked my crush since 1st grade.

Correctamungo! That's happened to me, to. But usually I would stop thinking about it, and it'd go away after a week or two. But I'm pretty different from most other peoples.

No, but I purposely set up a problem similar but quite different to this on purpose because I'm a curious little idiot.

I told this untrustworthy kid I liked a girl (I didn't like). By noon, everyone knew. I told my friends the truth and they called me pretty darn stupid for doing that. I laughed.

The reactions of people was kinda bad. Made fun of, called an idiot, stuff I ignore. Now I know something else that may help me in the future.

Re: I Need SERIOUS ADVICE!

Wear yellow sunglasses. Girls will ask to wear them. They almost always do. Then just give them permission to use them and use that as an excuse to talk. I still haven't found a way to tell a girl I like her, but that is a start to get a friendship with her so it's less awkward.
