Re: EXEScratch: An Alternative to Jens' Scratch2Exe

I don't care if you say this is a virus. But it is. Do not run this, do not download this. Shut up all you people that say this is not a virus. It modifies registry keys without you asking.

Re: EXEScratch: An Alternative to Jens' Scratch2Exe

What?

It...isn't a virus. And either way it's outdated by at least 2 years, so it's not like anyone was going to use it anyway (until someone bumped this thread).

Either way, don't know how this could have happened or why AVG/whichever program's throwing up an alert. Maybe my own computer was infected at the time or something. I'll check up on this and probably update it. Until then, no one else download/run this I guess. There are other better programs for EXE conversion (that don't use the laggy web browser) now anyway.

Re: EXEScratch: An Alternative to Jens' Scratch2Exe

Sorry, I was in a bad mood then. But anyway, these programs got picked up by PC Tools Spyare Doctor, McAfee, Avast, Norton, AVG, Avria and Kaspersky (I think that's how you spell it). But they can't all be wrong. Anyway, the batch file does not work, it modifies the regedit keys (although this doesn't really matter because it is not implating adware into Internet Explorer (I use FireFox) so it doesn't really make a difference) So watch out!

Most programs do that; every time you install a program it adds new registry keys!

EDIT: I probably shouldn't say "every" because there is doubtlessly a program which is an exception to what I just said. But you know what I mean.

I am surprised you guys haven't figured out why yet. There is no virus, there is nothing wrong with the files ( Apart from the McAffe Supposed Trojan ). The reason why all these Anti-Virus and Anti-Malware programs are saying it is ad-ware is because it has the signature of a potential adware program. This is because the program modifies the registry keys so internet explorer lets it through so it can use the internet to run the project. If it was an adware program then it would modify the internet explorer regedit key so it would make pop ups and spam messages while you were browsing. They basically do the same thing ( except implant adware in your browser ) which is why the Anti-Virus detects it as adware.

This isn't Scratch2EXE, this is EXEScratch. Unless you were saying that they both failed on you.

Re: EXEScratch: An Alternative to Jens' Scratch2Exe

I'm new to this thread but can I just say this and hopefully then people will stop posting 'it's a virus!' ect.  roll

This software is not a virus because it does not do anything malisious at all, the reason your virus scanners are saying it's dodgy is because it countains the virus like signitures which are what the virus scanner is looking for. I can promice you this isn't a virus  wink

Re: EXEScratch: An Alternative to Jens' Scratch2Exe

This is not a virus. It is simply a program made by s65. It only says it is a virus cause S65 is an unknown publisher: Anti virus software doesn't know him. It may affect registry keys but it is safe. And it does work.

1.) Rename it project.sb not something or other .sb
2.) Make sure it is the only project.sb file in the folder.
3.) Drag it onto the EXEScratch
4.) Do what it says
5.) Enjoy

Dudes, just to say that the program comes from a file hosting site called fileden. Mcafee says this is potentially dangererous site so there is a possibility of the site encoding a virus into the software

Re: EXEScratch: An Alternative to Jens' Scratch2Exe

Right nobody should download this for several reasons:

1.) Mcafees site report has 8 cases of viruses/spyware/adware/suspicious behaviour on the file hosting site fileden.

2.) When I attempted to re-download afting losing the files it was the same day the laptop got infected.
