Divide the remix tab

As proved by Antimonyarsenide's The Census of Fame, most top remixed projects are't inspiring. Why don't we spit the tab up. One will be Top Remix Chains and the other will be Most Inspiring Projects. Remix Chains would be contests, memes, add yourself, etc and Most Inspiring Projects the rest. What do you think?

It could search for words like add yourself, remix, meme, contest. Or people could include that when they upload a project. I don't know.

Oh, you mean like tags.   big_smile
That's another thing we could use tags for if they were stronger.

I was thinking about the project's name and note, but tags would be just as good!

hmmm well then there are those who would tag it to get it in the wrong catagory... possibly.  it's a good idea though.

Yes, which is why we need stronger tags.
Currently in Scratch, it just takes one person to give a project full power in a tag.

But with stronger tags one person could assign the 'wrong' tag, even the original poster, but if that tag for that content is not useful to others, it won't receive more attention.

delicious.com is a good example of tags: people use tags to organize things they like, they (and others) can filter their "favorites" by those tags are helpful to them.  Other people that like that content may use similar keywords when bookmarking that content. When multiple people use the same tag to organize their favorites, that content becomes more popular in that tag.

We already sort of have that in the tag system. (You can click on the little plus next to a tag; higher rated tags are in bigger font) It definitely could be worked in to this system. The only issue I could see with this is that it only really works with highly viewed projects.

Cool, "[+]" to increase font size of the tag on the project page helps,
but it barely compares with delicious.com:
Adding or confirming a tag bookmarks and organizes the project in their bookmarks or 'favorites' as we call it, is an organised collection.  Here's what it might look like for scratch.  Tagging benefits the tagger, so the motivation for 'helpful' tagging is stronger.  I bet scratchers will be less likely to tag "waffles" or "I was here" or, have conversation in the tags-- because that clutters their favorites page and makes it less useful to them.

I don't think we need more features, we need less that work together better.
