when it comes to video games, the mass billboards in my region always are advertising the m-rated ones:
1. Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars (Rockstar North)
2. Red Dead Redemption (Rockstar North)
3. Mafia II (2K games)
4. Kane & Lynch II: Dog Days (Edios & Square-Enix)
ALL FOUR ARE RATED MATURE AND DESERVE IT!
the mass media should know that they shouldn't promote a certain game just because it is about criminals or outlaws. at least Red Dead looks promising...maybe when i am much older.
what games are overhyped by urban billboards in your area?

Finally! Somebody agrees!
All I here at my school is
'Did you unlock that gun in modern warfare? I'm VERY powerful with a riot shield.'
SOmetimes I just think that children are being brainwashed into joining the army and other things.

The thing is, they only advertise the real-life based mafia/crime/war M-games, nothing fictional like Halo or Fable.
pretty sad, isn't it? id RATHER play Halo ODST, Assassin's Creed, or even The Hedgetrimmer: Shadow & Mario's GTA Knockoff over any of the Kane & Lynch Schlock you see these days.

I'm not on the side of violence, but just because most games are mature doesn't mean that's the reason the mass-media is promoting them.
I play violent games, but not BECAUSE they're violent. It's because they sound interesting (or they got high ratings on IGN xD)
Plus, if the mass-media was biased like that, they probably wouldn't get as many consumers (or whatever is the correct term) because 25% of the average gamers are under 18, and around 10% of the average gamers not under eighteen won't play games that are rated mature. (Puzzle gamers like my mom)
But, I see where you're coming from

Studys have shown that violent video games don't make kids more violent, no matter what parents want to think.

indeed. as some might say: "when you pick up a video game, the goal is gameplay, NOT THE OBJECTIONABLE THEMES." however, i still hate Kane & Lynch for being mentioned at the same level as Final Fantasy.

Well...have you played it?
I haven't, but do you know for sure that it isn't actually as fun as Final Fantasy (which I doubt is possible xD Final Fantasy ROX)?

video games are just a form of intertainment. Just becease you don't like FPSs, doesn't mean no one else can

Dude, you can't take away the right to advertise someting, that's called unnecessary censorship, and is usually the sign of a facist/ extremely communist government. Whether you like the games or not, they're free to advertise them.

you are crazier.
i know they are a form of entertainment. but when urban billboards comes to gaming, they always pick crime/mafia *, regardless of genre. srsly. have u seen HALO Reach on urban billboards? Metroid: Other M? FALLOUT VEGAS? no. those are seemingly good FPS games that should be advertized instead of Kane & Lynch garble.

Kane & Lynch are as evil as videogame characters can get
then why are they advertized on urban billboards in organized society? this could be a flame war before you know it. all i asked was "what games do you see advertized on urban billboards?"
stay on topic, Blink-182 Fanboi. dont flame me.

I am not stripping away rights as i speak. i am simply expressing my opinion. it cannot be changed.
mods, please close this topic. it is turning into a flame war.

dude, i don't think you understand. the billboard people don't choose what they advertise, the companies that make the games advertise them.
the game may be a bad game, but that doesn't mean they don't have a right to advertise it.
ci'?
